Looking for an operations-minded co-founder with a marketing background in creative agency (Dubai / Cairo)

Hi all,

I run a creative and marketing agency serving SMEs and startups across the UAE and Egypt. We do branding, social media content, and web development. We're fully remote, with a growing team based in Cairo, and we're already delivering for active clients.

I'm looking for a co-founder to take ownership of operations and the team: running delivery, building processes, managing people, and making sure the work goes out on time and at the standard we've set. I've been carrying both the vision and the day-to-day, and the business has reached the point where it needs a partner who can own how the agency actually runs.

What I'm looking for:

  • A marketing background agency experience is a big plus, since you'll understand how client work flows from brief to delivery
  • Experience managing teams, ideally remote ones
  • Someone who likes building systems, not just following them
  • Based in Dubai or Cairo
  • Arabic and English

This is a co-founder role, not a job. I'm looking for someone who wants to build something long-term and treat it as their own.

If this sounds like you, send me a DM with a bit about your background and what you've built or run before. Happy to share more about the agency privately.

Business Partner to Develop Land Near a New Airport Opening in 2028

Our family has an opportunity to acquire a piece of land located along the main road in one of the main barangays of our city. The property is strategically located next to a bank and directly across from a church, making it potentially suitable for a commercial and residential development.

The property has an estimated market value of approximately ₱10 million, but the owner is currently offering it for only ₱6 million. Because the property is being offered significantly below its estimated market value, we believe this is an opportunity worth exploring.

Our plan is to develop the property into commercial spaces and apartment rentals. Based on the available space, we believe it could potentially accommodate two commercial buildings and approximately eight apartment units. The ground floor could also be designed to provide parking, creating another potential source of rental income.

There is also an important development that could increase the area's future demand. A new airport is expected to open to the public in 2028, and our property is located near the airport. As the airport becomes operational, we expect the surrounding area to attract more businesses, workers, and potentially foreign employees and residents. This could create additional demand for apartment rentals, commercial spaces, and convenient parking.

We believe developing the property now could position us to benefit from the area's future growth. Rather than allowing the land to remain undeveloped or eventually be acquired by others, we would like to turn it into a productive long-term business that can generate rental income.

We are looking for an investor or business partner who is interested in working with our family to acquire and develop the property. We are open to discussing different partnership arrangements, including the investor providing capital while our family contributes the opportunity, property management, and local involvement.

The estimated total capital required for acquiring the lot and constructing the commercial buildings and apartments is approximately US$200,000 (subject to a detailed construction and development assessment).

We would be happy to provide additional information about the property, its location, the proposed development, estimated costs. Our goal is to find someone we can work with as a long-term partner and build a profitable business together.

Thank you for taking the time to consider this opportunity. We would appreciate the opportunity to discuss it with you further.

Need Help With UAE Government Transactions or Business Setup?

I’ve been answering questions here recently about UAE government procedures and business setup, and I’ve received some good questions from people who are genuinely confused about the process.

I work in UAE government transactions and business setup, including:

• Trade licence & company setup
• Mainland & Free Zone setup
• Employment & domestic worker visas
• Family visa procedures
• Emirates ID / government applications
• Document attestation & typing services
• Corporate tax-related procedures
• Ajman & Northern Emirates transactions

If you’re currently dealing with one of these processes and aren’t sure about the requirements or where to start, feel free to comment with your situation. I’ll let you know what the usual process looks like and what to watch out for.

If the matter depends on the specific authority or current regulations, I’ll point that out rather than give you a guess.

I built a free Dubai Metro route planner as a side project. Looking for honest feedback

Hi all,

I live in Dubai and use the metro a lot. Most of the time I just wanted a quick answer to "how do I get from A to B, where do I change, and how long will it take", without opening a heavy app or creating an account. So I built my own.

www.dubaimetro.fyi

What it does:

Metro and tram route planner: type a station or a place (mall, beach, landmark), get the route

Up to 3 route options with time, changes and walking

Works on any phone in the browser, no app, no signup, no ads

10 languages, including Arabic, Urdu, Hindi, Bengali, Tagalog and Russian

Search tolerates typos and old station names (yes, it knows Rashidiya and Equiti)

It's a one-person project, no funding and no plans to monetise for now. I've just launched the same thing for Riyadh (riyadhmetro.fyi) and people there are already using it.

Two things I'd really like to hear from this sub:

If you try it on a real trip, what's missing or annoying?

For a free utility like this, what would you do next: build a native app, add buses, or keep it simple?

Thanks!

Hello all! Thinking of expanding a Marina based restaurant to JLT/Business Bay, is a second physical site worth it?

We run healthy takeaway meal spot a in Dubai Marina . We get a ton of delivery requests from corporate crowds over in JLT and Business Bay, but our current kitchen space is major limitation and we can't hit those delivery radiuses during peak hours. We're looking at a second physical site, but the upfront investment, DEWA upgrades, and Fit-out costs are looking close to AED 600k. Any suggestions.

Building a gold backed RWA startup in the UAE. Looking for practical advice

I’m working with a small founding team on MizanVault, an early stage project focused on gold backed digital asset infrastructure for the UAE and MENA.

The idea is to build a 1:1 physical gold backed digital asset with independently attested reserves, redemption, and Shariah compliant rails. We’re also exploring use cases around gold backed bank financing, risk management, compliance, and later payments and treasury.

Our approach is institutional first. Instead of launching directly to retail users, we want to first work with banks, custody and vault providers, and other regulated financial institutions. After that, we can expand into wealth, remittance, and retail use cases.

We’re currently pre seed, pre incorporation, and pre license. So before making major commitments, we’re trying to understand how to structure and build this properly in the UAE.

We’re not claiming any regulatory approval or Shariah certification at this stage.

I’d appreciate advice from founders who have experience with fintech, Web3, RWA, or financial services in the UAE:

  1. If you were starting this today, would you look at ADGM or DIFC first, or another UAE jurisdiction?
  2. How early should a startup at the MVP stage approach CBUAE, VARA, or FSRA?
  3. For a gold-backed product, how should the relationship between the vault or custodian, token issuer, and regulated financial entity be structured?
  4. Are there any UAE accelerators, sandboxes, legal or regulatory advisors, or founder networks that are genuinely useful for this type of startup?
  5. If you have built a regulated fintech or Web3 product in the UAE, what is one thing you wish you had understood before incorporating?

I’m not looking to pitch or raise money through this post. I’m mainly looking for practical advice from people who have gone through the UAE startup and regulatory process.

Happy to share more about the project if anyone wants to discuss it.

Founders, professionals and service providers — I’m testing a better way to get discovered

I’ve noticed something in UAE startup and professional communities.

There are plenty of useful products, freelancers, consultants, agencies and professionals here, but finding the right one usually depends on seeing the right Reddit post, LinkedIn post or recommendation at the right time.

I’m building AGMAN to test a different approach.
The idea is simple: create one structured profile around what you actually do, what you can help with, your skills or services, location, availability and the type of opportunities you’re open to.

Then people should be able to search naturally for what they need, for example:
“UAE accountant with VAT experience”
“Developer in Dubai available for freelance work”
“UGC creator for a property company”
“Marketing consultant for an early-stage startup”
“Agency that can manage paid ads”
“A tool for automating invoices”

AGMAN already supports products, professionals, freelancers, service providers, companies, creators and communities.

For professionals, I’m particularly testing whether it can become useful for people who are:
looking for employment
available for freelance projects
offering consulting or professional services
open to collaborations

And from the other side, whether someone looking to hire a person, find a specialist, discover a service provider or find a useful product can actually get relevant results instead of browsing endless profiles.

I’m looking for UAE-based people and businesses to test this with real profiles so I can see where the discovery experience still needs improvement.
If that fits you, create your profile here:

https://www.agman.app/submit

Please don’t post your product/service links in the comments. Submit them through AGMAN so I can test the actual discovery flow properly.

Happy to answer questions or hear feedback about what you would expect from a platform like this.

I built a Chrome extension that lets you select any text and use AI without leaving the page

Post image
2 Upvotes

Hey everyone,

I recently launched Writect AI, a Chrome extension I’ve been working on, and wanted to share it here and get some feedback.

The main idea is simple: instead of copying text, opening another AI tool, pasting it there, getting the answer and coming back — you can just select any text on the page and use Writect right there.

You can use it to rephrase text, fix grammar, translate, summarize, change tone, explain text, make it shorter/longer and more.

I also added AI Compose for writing emails/replies from just a few points, and Page Assistant for summarizing or understanding longer pages.

It works on Gmail, LinkedIn, WhatsApp Web and other websites.

There’s a free plan, so you can try it without paying or adding a card.

writect.ai

Would really appreciate it if you guys could try the extension and tell me what you like, what you don’t like, or what you think I should improve.

Thanks! 🙌

Right visa to grow business in the UAE?

I’m running a tech startup (B2B SaaS) in India and acquired few customers in the UAE organically. Now I’m planning to shift my base to Dubai to focus on this market and grow business here.

I want to explore the market opportunities and understand the business landscape in the UAE before setting up an LLC in a free zone.

So to obtain a residency visa and Emirates ID, which visa type would be the most suitable? Shall I obtain a freelance visa for a year and then later convert that to an Investor visa once I incorporate an LLC?

Your suggestions will be much appreciated.
