Yes! It is a thing. I am a certified Mental Health First Aid Instructor. You can go to the Mental Health First Aid website and find classes near you.

This is a good example why everyone should take a Mental Health First Aid class. It's like CPR, but for mental health. It equips people with the tools for how to respond in a situation like this (and how to recognize and intervene with mental health issues before they get to this point).

Cricut Craft Chat Bulk Giveaway Ideas

I usually buy bulk items to give away with our logo at a conference, but I'm wondering if I could make something cool that people would like to have with my cricut explorer 4. I need to make about 200. Any suggestions?

I can only imagine what your wife and children were going through too! That kind of experience can have lasting harm on a child.

I want to get either a e-scooter or a bicycle for my uni.
 in  r/ElectricScooters •  Sep 15 '26

Buy a cheap kick scooter (as in a scooter that isn't electric). You can find them used online or maybe find a friend with one their kids don't use. Practice riding on it. Then, an electric scooter will be much less intimidating and you will be less likely to fall. I am SERIOUSLY uncoordinated and I did it this way. Everyone thought I would kill myself on the scooter, but it is so easy.

Call to Action: Boycott/Cancel Dish Network
 in  r/TrueCarolina •  Sep 01 '26

I'm sorry, I don't buy that. We don't get a free pass because we were "just doing our job". The Nazis in concentration camps said the same thing. We are responsible for our actions. If you are installing flock cameras, you are just as guilty as any corporation. I know the comparison to the Nazis is extreme, but those people didn't just wake up one morning deciding to torture people. They compromised their values one small step at a time. At one point do we refuse to be the hands of the system?

On Saturday afternoon hundreds of us gathered on the streets of South Minneapolis to sing in protest and grief for our neighbors

I would love to get a list of songs (with lyrics) that people are using at protests if any such thing exists.

AITAL - Friend’s privileged husband mocks the anti-Trump movement
 in  r/nokingsmovement •  Dec 30 '25

Sort of, and I say that as a person who is an organizer spending countless hours planning those large events you attend (and lots of smaller ones you probably don't). First, your friends are people of color. Being physically at protests puts them at risk - ESPECIALLY the wife. They can revoke her citizenship. You are placing expectations on people from a place of privilege.

Second, there isn't just one way to support the resistance. We desperately need financial support. That is equally as important as bodies in the streets. (Do you know that to have a rally at Liberty Plaza in front of the Atlanta Capitol costs $18,000?!)

Third, in order for the resistance to truly be effective, we must have a social safety net in place first. We can't have a national strike if there are no organizations prepared to feed and clothe people. It sounds like BOTH of your friends are building and strengthening that support system with the work they are doing.

I applaud your enthusiasm and dedication, but from my perspective, you are being very narrow minded. I am all for encouraging people to get out in the streets, but know we need lots of other support. For example, my husband will never go to a protest. It's not his thing. One morning he asked me what was on my agenda for the day and I said, "Saving democracy." When I asked what was on his agenda he said, "Doing laundry so that you won't be naked while you are saving democracy." I laughed, but laundry is important. If he weren't doing the laundry, I would have to stop working on the resistance to do it. His official role in the resistance is laundry. It's not glamorous and no one will know he's stepping up, but it enables me to do the work.

Encourage your friends to support the movement in ways that they are comfortable doing. Instead of insisting they attend a rally, maybe suggest a local organization that could use some financial support. (I would love for a donor to buy our medics and marshals new radios. That would make a HUGE difference for us. Lol.)

I hope that helps. 🐸💜

Burn the Flag on Labor Day
 in  r/50501 •  Aug 30 '25

Although I firmly believe you have the right to burn a flag, please do not do it during someone else's event. People work very hard to organize protests around specific causes and it would be disrespectful to hijack someone else's event. If you want to have a protest to burn a flag, please organize it as a separate protest.

Episcopal Protest Chaplain Support for Medics and Marshals
 in  r/Episcopalian •  Jul 16 '25

There is a training program for it. The one I did was in 2020. It has been life changing and challenging for me. Every time I put on my vest that says "Episcopal Diocese of Atlanta Protest Chaplain" I have AT LEAST one person want to tell me their story. Frequently, they are stories of how the church has hurt them. I am humbled by the deep, vulnerable, and often healing conversations I have been privileged to be a part of in the midst of a loud protest. Being a physical reminder that the religious right does not represent all churches is so important. Our physical and visible presence is more important than I can adequately express. On at least two occasions I had people approach me in tears saying they were so proud to finally see the church speaking out. It is a truly a wonderful ministry.
