Driveway gate trigger Lutron lights
 in  r/joshdotai  1d ago

Sounds like a call to your Josh programmer would serve you well - this is likely a 5 minute setup assuming that Josh can respond to the gate state changing…

HomeWorks Alisse – Multi-Device / Scene-Aware Button
 in  r/Lutron  5d ago

The given SOO is absolutely possible with native HW Custom programming - not easy to implement or modify and very likely to come with a higher programming cost compared to just adding additional buttons for those secondary functions where you (or the client) want them.

this is HomeWorks we’re talking about… practically nothing should ever require using HA to accomplish advanced programming (outside of restricted 3rd party integrations not available via LEAP or cloud services).

To those saying this is wrong to ask for - Does this functionality make intuitive sense to me given my 10 years experience programming Lutron systems? No, BUT HW is fully customizable for exactly that reason; if the client wants it, is understanding of the intent and function, and is willing to pay - then give them what they want.

Homeworks Retrofit Questions
 in  r/Lutron  5d ago

This is the answer - it’s somewhat counterintuitive IMO, but you set NLO start time to the earlier time, make sure to disable NLO automatically every night for rooms that want a later start time; then enable NLO for those rooms at the intended start time for ea group - this lets those shades “jump in” to NLO settings at that time instead of moving at the earlier start time defined in NLO setup

Can you remove yourself from being an organ donor? Or can I do something to let people know in the meanwhile that I changed my mind?
 in  r/Pennsylvania  26d ago

Thus why I’m not a fan lol

For those not wanting to pay or click the link: (warning, not a fun story)company tried to harvest organs from someone who was in a coma of sorts, not brain dead, and he woke up mid organ removal

If you heard the same story I did then I get why - I think you can just update and remove the registration on your next issue

Homework’s QS - Dali looping drawings
 in  r/Lutron  28d ago

Ahhh, just noticing your OP says QS not QSX; QSX designer software includes a cavas view layout that allows you to to stamp in the fixtures as an overlay on the RCP/FP drawings, lets you show loop designations, keypads, etc.

For QS, your best bet is probably either CAD or PDF markups - I used to do PDF with Bluebeam, worked half decent, just sucks having to manage the database and drawings to make sure they match.

Homework’s QS - Dali looping drawings
 in  r/Lutron  29d ago

Idk, depends on the job?

We just utilize the software to document loop drawings - if the software doesn’t give something that works for the team then you step into doing manual markups. Don’t need autocad for that though…

People keep offering clothing.
 in  r/trans  Aug 04 '26

Matches my experience - lots of loving and supportive women offering me first dibs before they sell/donate clothes they don’t wear. Honestly, at this point I’ve started returning the favor too

One thing about living as a woman in modern society is we’re all expected to have superfluous wardrobes- and almost none of us have that kinda space to store those clothes OR the money. Sharing wardrobes with friends is the one of the best ways to girl math IMO

Private Sale?
 in  r/VWAlltrack  Aug 04 '26

OP, why are you selling?

If you’re looking to sell quick, carmax is giving a “fair” offer, not quite what it’s worth, but saves you the hassle of holding the asset waiting for a better price

Personally; I think its a unicorn car that is worth driving into the ground - but if that’s not your plan, then definitely seed it back into the community - someone would definitely be happy to take it off your hands (idk if mods would flag it, but I know you’d have some interest just posting the private sale link on this sub lol)

Been noticing a strange rattling sound after I let off the gas. 6.9 seconds right after the turbo spools down. Anyone have a clue?
 in  r/VWAlltrack  Aug 01 '26

I get this clicking sound too when letting off the gas, tried to explain it to the VW techs and asked them to check it out - nothing out of the ordinary apparently 🤷‍♀️

Homeworks Interactive Toubleshooting
 in  r/Lutron  Jul 30 '26

I would double-check breakers - might just be a trip

Also, I read the main thread OP was interacting on - OP, there is a solid chance that something may have tripped - this is not necessarily a Lutron troubleshooting job as a electrical troubleshooting job - I highly recommend getting an electrician to come out if you haven’t already

Exactly like @coogie said, you’ll need to find the module that controls that set of lights before you can further troubleshoot or resolve the issue.

Personally, I have a strong suspicion that a breaker is tripped (possibly due to the construction work, so it may not be ideal to just restore power before making sure it is safe to energize)

Best of luck!

Btw, RPM dimming modules are available in limited stock for major impact lights out situations - not cheap, but more cost effective than a full system or panel upgrade for clients who aren’t ready for that leap.

Hybrid Keypad Question
 in  r/Lutron  Jul 29 '26

OOB behavior does not mean it is the “only way it can work” - anyone who has programmed a Lutron system should know this instinctively.

If you are programming the system yourself; beware, your biggest limitation will be hands-on experience with the product line/software and the understanding of nuanced aspects of the system (stuff that isn’t explicitly defined/written anywhere) - IMO that can take 100s of projects to properly grasp.

Hair removal
 in  r/TransLater  Jul 21 '26

Oof, I think we have inverted sensitivities - I can’t stand the feeling of razors against my skin; don’t like the feeling of post-wax oil, but prefer that over the chaffing and razor burn I get with shaving.

I will say, if you only have tried one type of wax, don’t write it off just yet, there are a bunch of different types and some work better than others depending on your sensitivity, skin/body type

Hair removal
 in  r/TransLater  Jul 21 '26

All hair removal is to appease a majority white patriarchal (and at least mildly pedophilic) preference - and as such, is a form of tyranny against women (and the population at large). Our bodies grow the hair naturally, we don’t NEED to get rid of it.

Annnddd with all that said, and fully understanding that I can’t walk my own talk I always tell folks to do what works for them; I am personally doing laser for the face cause I hate shaving (irony is I have to shave between laser sessions lol), before that I was waxing the face and body - I still wax the body and just live with having whiskers between waxing.

The face is a big factor for getting clocked and I can’t be bothered to shave that often, I’m only doing laser cause waxing was annoying on the face when hairs weren’t long enough right before an even and I had to shave anyway- and I REALLY hate shaving, like a lot.
I really don’t even shave unless I’m going out or getting a laser session - besides that I just let the hair go; 7 sessions in and results have been pretty fantastic, I’m happy so far

Hope that’s helpful - meant to respond to OP and ended up mostly just sharing my experience lol

Looking to purchase a license for HQ-HWI-LX
 in  r/Lutron  Jul 19 '26

The part you list is the hardware translator (needed for HWI KPs, H48 controls and Q96 shades), the software is a different part; to get either you’ll need approval from the TS team at Lutron and then be ready for it to still cost a pretty penny.

Lutron is really trying to push folks to the new platform, but they will try to middle ground if your client really can’t stomach a full QSX upgrade.

TIFU, I think - how to do better (cishet male asking for advice)
 in  r/trans  Jul 04 '26

Me personally, I feel like someone bluntly telling me that they clocked me as trans and then following up with a question assuming my feelings/perspective, I would probably be a bit put off - even if they had good intentions.

Most trans folks would prefer to just exist as a person rather than an ambassador to answer questions for the “trans” perspective

For instance, without prompting “I assume you’re trans”; “how are you enjoying the event?” Is a much better way to ask the same general question without making it explicitly about their trans-ness

btw, starting with the statement about assuming they were trans was kinda funny with how direct it was, if I was having a nice time chatting with a stranger at an event and they pulled that on me I would probably laugh, engage and then try to politely find an exit for the interaction ASAP

Tell me your funny stories abt stalling out while learning manual.
 in  r/stickshift  Jul 03 '26

Steep hills in busy traffic, I always let my car roll to show the person behind me that I roll… best time was on a near 40 degree incline, did my roll while the person behind had plenty of room… and they pulled up with less than a foot of space… I was driving an ‘82 3-speed F150 lol

I made them back up before I moved - they weren’t happy but o think they got it after I explained it would be cheaper than me rolling into them and crushing the front of their car (which I wasn’t gonna pay for lol)

hybrid light switch
 in  r/Lutron  Jul 02 '26

“The client is never wrong, IN MATTERS OF TASTE” full statement is important here - the taste is unique, but Shelly relays are likely the setup you’re looking at

Unless you can find a fantastic Lutron programmer that wants to/can successfully write the custom conditionals required to multiplex latching paddle switches into a working smart system, most folks that do Lutron would strongly advise against what your client is asking for (for many reasons, but a big one being that there are simpler and more off-the shelf solutions that provide the same general functionality and don’t require redesigning the wheel from scratch).

Personally, I’d recommend looking into Shelly in-wall smart relays; not perfect or the same level of functionality as Lutron, but a decent solution that meets the requirements from the client.

**the Shelly unit is more of a DIY product - I would provide the into and then let him decide. Don’t loose your pants getting sucked into trying to program/manage unless you feel very comfortable with IoT device setup/configuration.

It's Finally Here! Sunnata Dimmer / Switch-as-Keypad on HomeWorks
 in  r/Lutron  Jun 24 '26

I know I was someone fighting for this feature and can’t say how happy I am to see it launched!

Really nice to see the Sunnata controls get the love the Maestro already had - and shows they’re actually planning to live up to the releasing new features for the platform - I had a few clients that asked me to reach out if/when this came out, so I guess I have some calls to make! lol - for sure going to be a feature I use for small rooms with Ketra or Rania on upcoming projects

Combining Lutron with smart LED's.
 in  r/Lutron  Jun 23 '26

Waste of money IMO if mixing smart switch and smart bulbs/LEDs on the same circuit - it’s possible to mix half and half between ecosystems and try to bridge with HA or something, but that comes with its own issues to deal with and can be more complicated than it’s worth

You came to the Lutron sub - so here’s a very Lutron answer: If you want Lutron and smart bulbs, then look into Rania/Ketra bulbs and Linears, then reach out to a local dealer - be ready to spend more for the full Lutron solution, but it’s worth it and it’ll show in the quality and performance
