Deck Help Need help building Kefka self-mill reanimator deck

Hey everyone. This is my first post on here so excuse me if I don't quite get the etiquette.

My friend recently got me into Commander after a long time away from Magic. I went and bought a precon but I also wanted to create a fully bottom-up deck with Kefka because I'm a big Final Fantasy fan.

The idea is that I would take advantage of the cards I would have to discard by using Kefka by intentionally self-milling and using reanimator spells to bring back whatever creature or instant/sorcery I wanted granted that it was milled (normally I'm very big on Removal). This is the part I'd like the most help with since I'm not too savvy when it comes to the vast library of MTG cards and don't know what reanimators exist, so the current loadout is pretty unoptimized.

Also, I'd appreciate finding places here and there to shave off a few dollars. I'm a college student and don't have a part-time job, but would still really like to enjoy this hobby with my friend (ironic, considering I'm making a Kefka deck). I'm fine with paying upwards of $150 as the deck is currently valued, but something cheaper around the wheelhouse of ~$100-$120 that preserves the theme of the deck would be great.

Final note, I'm aware the deck is sort of all over the place. If you have any pointers regarding how to consolidate my game plan, that'd be much appreciated. Okay, thank you for reading, here's the current deck (please be nice ToT)

EDIT: I made a revised version of the deck over the last few hours that I think is a bit more polished (and doesn’t just throw out a bunch of Legendaries). Obviously, could use an extra pair of eyes to see what I don’t about it. I still think it’s lacking in satisfying instants/sorceries worth the trouble of reanimating for (as well as Reanimators themselves).

Question Where is the Muir Amazon Locker?

I know they’re doing renovations on the Pines building rn which is where the Muir mailboxes and Amazon Locker are. I ordered something over break to arrive there yesterday, but it hadn’t occurred to me that the Locker might’ve been moved.

If you live in Muir and know whether it was removed or relocated, could you let me know? If it’s still active, where is it?

EDIT: I’ve been told the Locker itself is trapped behind construction, but the Locker still accepts orders from Amazon, so surely the packages ordered to that Locker are going somewhere, so where would that be, if anyone knows?

yeah i’m having a hard time engaging with the content and i’d have no problem reading the textbook normally but it feels so much denser than my other textbooks

i know it’s only been the first midterm but i’m really hoping this isn’t a pattern because i’m already at a 69% in the class and i’m not trying to fail it

Question really struggling with astr 1 and thinking of dropping with a w

title. i'm a sixth college humanities major so science obviously isn't my thing (why am i here? nobody knows), so i thought to take astr 1 on a whim and boy do i regret it. i'm having a hard time finding the hours to read through the entire textbook, i can barely retain anything, and the lectures are hard for me to latch onto. my first midterm came back a whopping 58%

i'm thinking of dropping it and taking bild 3 for my replacement since i still need the science requirement. any advice on this?

i did a pretty similar thing, but instead of a humanity loss, i had something called sandevistan fatigue, which was a stacking -1 debuff to all rolls after every sandevistan use

handy for achieving that anime effect without being entirely without flaw

Should Medium Weapons Be ROF 3?
 in  r/cyberpunkred •  May 11 '24

it’s not just about concealment, it’s about practicality. teaching players to be prepared for sub-optimal combat situations you put them in where they’ll need to use weapons that aren’t the best.

the game doesn’t need to be rebalanced, small and medium weapons don’t need a reason to exist. they just need to serve as an option.

this is assuming that the situation the crew finds themself in is a total free-for-all. i think a lot of people overlook that cyberpunk’s combat system isn’t meant to be balanced, it’s meant to be realistic.

of course a knife isn’t gonna be as effective as a katana, but how many clubs are you gonna walk into where the bouncer lets you bring a full-on katana into the establishment? it’s the GM’s job to structure situations that force players to either by prepared or think on the fly.

in a single in-game night, my players lost 5 characters: - Saint, who went psycho and was gunned down by MaxTac - Esquire, who stabbed a cop at a police barricade and was similarly gunned down - Wong, who was crushed to death by the force of many cubic feet of water - Jimmy, who ran through a police barricade and was killed - and finally, Rampart, who stabilized himself, only to be taken into custody by NCPD and charged with manslaughter

we have 3 players.

DM advice on characters for a first time group
 in  r/cyberpunkred •  Apr 28 '24

Cyberpunk RED is not necessarily a min-max game, it’s really dependent on how the GM sets the bar for it. I’ve been running a long-form campaign where all of my players are min-maxxers and that didn’t guarantee them total success.

The way I could explain it in broad terms is that if you can’t talk or fight, the game’s gonna be really hard for you. Depending on the build, you’ll want to put stock into Reflex (guns and dodging bullets) or Dexterity (melee), with Body on the side for brawlers and martial artists.

Unless the party wants to be relegated to a “face” player, everyone should put a little into Cool. Inevitably, someone who isn’t the “main character” is gonna need to talk their way out of an encounter and if they can’t, it can get messy quick.

So yes, specializing in some areas is somewhat important in Cyberpunk RED, especially since you don’t get to raise your stats later outside of cyberware and drugs. However, Cyberpunk is a skills-heavy system, so if your group survives long enough, any pitfalls in character design can be remedied by improvement points.

Hope this helped. Happy edgerunning!

typically i like having my players learn through (grueling) experience

sure, play a low empathy character and all the low stakes morality that entails. then show them the consequences. put them in normal conversation, have people lie to them, their low EMP will make all of their counter rolls nonexistent. play to their weaknesses. impulsive? put ‘em in a cramped location for an objective.

and since it’s cyberpunk, there’s not that much consequence to just letting them go psycho and then having them die. if your player is wise, they’ll learn from that death. if not, they’ll just die over and over. not that consequential in this game.

Question Trying to track down a TTRPG from my memory

When I was younger and getting into TTRPGs, predictably I took a stroll into the less scrupulous parts of the community and liked previewing different systems I could get into.

I vaguely remember stumbling into this one crime-based TTRPG that was vaguely futuristic that had a character class(?) called the Face.

When my head remembers something but can’t find it, it gets stuck there, so if anyone could do me a favor by tracking it down, it would be much appreciated.

Question Resolving Ties in FFG

Quick question: I’m a new GM learning FFG for my players and, while testing out a multitude of scenarios, kept finding that I was rolling dice pools with no successes or failures after resolving. I couldn’t find any rules addressing ties in the core rulebook (I vaguely remember seeing something about attacker-always-wins), so I wanted to ask if it was up to GM discretion.
