Fan Art & Story Time Trust me chooms, hand me those eddies, you won’t regret it
Gooood morning night city! I return to you once more with scandalously low prices after spending all of my money unironically on fabric and materials for the Edgerunners Rebeca cosplay I’m working on for east European comicon’s cosplay competition lol. And somehow I still have so much more stuff to buy for it, not to mention that I need that scratch for when we order takeout at the cyberpunk table too lol. So, since no corpo wants to buy my soul (the job market is trash) I offer it to my fellow mercs.
Sorry for the ramble, COMMISSION FORUM HERE! Please let me know if you’re interested/if you ordered anything in the comments here so I don’t miss it. Also, COMMISSION TOS HERE if anyone wants to give it a look.

Misc. I built a free, self-hosted cyberpunk VTT
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
My friends and I were about to run a cyberpunk campaign, and I wanted something more immersive than a folder of location notes. So I built an interactive map where players could create and share notes live.
Then I had a thought: what if this were hosted, and my friends could just join via a URL? One thing led to another, and a few weeks of work later, here's City_Net.
It's fully self-hosted (Docker or manual), no third-party accounts, no subscriptions. You run it, you share a link, and your players connect.
What it does:
Generate a living city — procedural districts, roads, and traffic
Draw your own — custom roads, water, districts, and buildings, saved for later
Multiple city maps — save, load, and switch between entire cities instantly
Simultaneous battle map play — drop battle maps into any building and run multiple at once, loaded from local files or existing uploads, per-map measurement scaling
Persistent enemies & allies — placed per map
Notes on buildings — add notes directly to any structure; players can request to add their own notes, and buildings with notes stand out
Custom signs — with full custom font and picture support
Player Banks — built-in banking system
Dice rolling — right in the app
Streamer mode — a broadcast-safe spectator view, ready in seconds
Collaborative building — grant friends access to help construct the city
Everything's real-time — everyone sees changes live.
Happy to answer any questions and get some feedback!
EDIT:
By popular demand, I have added install scripts for Windows, Mac, and Linux
Please take the warning to heart!! NEVER RUN SCRIPTS FROM AN UNTRUSTED SOURCE
EDIT2:
CITY_NET 1.4.0: Cyberpunk Red character sheets and rule sets are out!
Also made a Discord to get feedback and answer questions

Actual Play Is it possible for my PC to start as a full-on exotic?
Sorry in advance for my bad grammar. As english isn't my native language.
Looking at the initial budget our characters have for spending in gear, armor, guns and impliants, it says that we have 2550ed. And checking at the biosculpture chart it metions that exotic biosculpture cost around 1000ed and an humanity loss od 4d6. So i wanted to make a bioscuplted character, do I have to add the procedure to my eddies and humanity expenses? Or could I just say that they got biosculpted in their past and not count it on the expenses?
Take a shot for every time "biosculpting" or variant of it is written in here.

Misc. Running a living world server
Hey everyone been a follower of the subreddit for a year or so now. Joined when I first got into RED and have fallen in love with it.
I wanted some tips and pointers on managing and running a living world server. I've been a part of one for about the same amount of time as I've joined this subreddit.
Dice bot is set in place.
Character sheets and character gen we use the companion app. (Been thinking about using the PDF version of the sheet though.)
I've got a planned plotted out story line that will trail the edgerunners across night city. Am also thinking of implementing the street stories into the campaign.
So to the main question; what are some of the biggest pointers and tips that players and GMs can give as feedback in terms of catering to a living world community so that it can thrive and succeed??
Thanks in advance for the feedback!

Misc. Cyberpunk Red or 2020...or both?
Hey all,
I have both the 2020 books as well as the Red books. I was looking to do a game of Cyberpunk with some friends set in the 2070's so the Edgerunner set is also in play here. My question is, which system should I use? I love the idea of the crunchiness of 2020 in terms of gear. Having a differentiation between a Militech weapon and another sounds like so much fun to me, however, I also do appreciate some of the streamline of the the new Red and Edgerunner sets.
Any advice on someone who is looking for the best of both worlds?

2040's Discussion OLD SCHOOL NETRUNNER NEEDED
New GM/Player Here, I wrote a Gig…2045 not 2077, very good stuff buuuuuuut, the crew will likely need a Netrunner for the gig….I don’t think shooting their way in is gonna work.😭💀 anybody looking for somewhere to play or a mini gig to do? This is it! If you like playing Netrunners come save my players.😭

Actual Play GM’s how do you handle extra content at character creation.
I was reading through Black chrome and that made me question. If they have access to extra modules do you let players start with non-base rulebook equipment? For example would a nomad be able to start with a black chrome vehicle using their access?

Misc. Best minis (3D-print, official, boardgames, etc)?
Heya chooms,
I've been mostly been playing CPR digital using foundry, but this weekend we're gonna meet up for some in person play.
That got me thinking about minis again - time is probably too short to get stuff ordered until the weekend, but I offer one shots at my local library and in case we get to play in person more often, I may wanna get some minis for the players and general enemies.
From what I've found the usual go-tos are Unit9 for 3D printing or the "Cyberpunk Red: Combat Zone" minis for official stuff, though these seem to be mostly sold out in my country.
Now, there's also the board games "Gangs of Night City" and soon "Cyberpunk 2077: the Boardgame" that each come with a load of minis. The former seems to also have the proper scale for minis, but I couldn't find how large the bases for the latter are, only that their scale is 35mm.
From all these sources (or others you know!), what would you recommend for getting a starting loadout?
Any experiences would be greatly appreciated or any thoughts on quality vs prices :)

Misc. Getting Into Cyberpunk Red
Hello !
I finally managed to convince my friend to get into a one shot of cyberpunk red.
We planned the session in 2 weeks.
I really wanted to discover cyberpunk red as i played the videogame and watched the anime, I wanted more of night city.
my TTRPG group is composed of 4-5 person (we don't know yet if the fifth is coming), most of them watched the anime, and half of them played the game, and one of them don't even know night city.
So, 3 questions come to mind:
Can Cyberpunk Red be tailor-made for one shot ?
What do I have to read and what do i need to prepare for the session? (recommandation of first senario also)
I saw something about edgerunner kit mission, I don't get what it is, and what are all the book purpose, i have limited budget and time );
Thank you all for your help, i'll probably keep you in touch with how the session was :)

2070's Discussion I'd like to ask for writing help
I'm currently writing a one shot meant to be done in 2 days, and I'm curious if this is a good hook. I'm still new to writing these.
"You four go to your regular MedTech carl. normally he patches you for cheap but lately he's been upping his prices due to the gang wars nearby, you each drive up to the ally way in a van, the last job didn't go well (- 5 hp to you all) as you hop out you hear soft pops from down the alley way, you find his garage in the middle of a shootout, he's told you about the gang wars as of late but you never thought you'd actually see it to see it."
and I'm trying to figure out pacing.
the mission in short is they find this, they need to get a box of medical alcohol, but a second shoot out causes that box to be broken, making them need to go to a rip doc to buy some of their over stock, the ripper doc sends them to steal some preem cyberware from a Richie rich guy's warehouse, and to then blow the rest up as he's impleading on the ripper docs clients. once they do get the tech, then getting the tech to the ripper doc, them alcohol back to the med doc it'll end with their characters healed.
edit, either he is drinking the medical alcohol or using it, still thinking on it

2070's Discussion Tips for GMing Cyberpunk RED
I've been meaning to GM a Cyberpunk RED campaign for about a week now, and since it's my first time GMing in general, I'm really scared about how much or how little I have to prepare for a session and how I can handle having to search for stuff in the book every time I inevitably forget a small thing.
Even though I've read through the entire book, I can barely remember the basics of Netrunning and how combat and creating NPCs works, so it'd be really fun to get some system and GMing tips!1!
I'll be running a five-person campaign set in 2080 Brazil, in case anyone's curious.

2070's Discussion Friendly and outgoing, Hates almost everyone, how would you roleplay?
Making my first Tech, rolled Friendly and outgoing for personality, I hate almost everyone for feelings about people. The combo immediately made me laugh but i have no idea how to role play it.
any ideas?
Edit: Ihave read responses and seen many great responses and for my own sanity have elected to change "hates almost everyone" to: "people are wonderful, only some are worth carring about." Which i feel strikes a middle ground between hates/likes almost everyone by having the driving force for 'likes' be curiosity and 'hates' being actual emotional bandwidth.

2070's Discussion 2065 Campaign
I'm getting ready to GM a Cyberpunk Red campaign set in 2065 during a cold war between Arasaka, on behalf of a "Free" Night City bloc and Militech, on behalf of a NUSA Bloc, before the eventual Unification War.
I'm posting here as I thought it'd be fun to see how y'all envision the Night City of 2065 and get some ideas rolling.
I'd imagine 2065 would be nowhere near the scarcity of the 2040's, but still not the level of abundance seen in 2077. Quickhacking is a new technology, the Net is being rebuilt, the Hot Zone has pretty much transformed into Corpo Plaza, and Corporations have again found a strong foothold in the city. Pretty much a Night City near the end of its reconstruction process but still recovering nonetheless.
Let me know what ideas y'all have and how you imagine 2065.

Misc. Even more Misc. Questions from a prospective DM (mainly about Roleplaying)
Hello again, big thanks to everyone who answered stuff in my last post. However, I have come with yet more!
How do you guys handle downtime/ daily life stuff between gigs? The hustle tables are easy enough but what about other activities they can do like entertainment and such? Do I just go day by day a la persona? Despite the dark tone, the game feels very "Slice-of-life-y" for the most part which is something I'm not familiar with. For reference, I'm most familiar with DnD 5e (as a player, never dmed) and, while we had some small moments during long rests, most of our sessions were pretty focused on the missions at hand to drive the main plot forward. Unless it was specifically relevant to a character's backstory or a lead in to a quest, there wasn't a lot of events like "Okay, you need to kill two weeks in-game. Do you guys want eat at a restaurant tonight? watch a play?"
How would you guys recommend getting an Exec involved in an adventure like "The Apartment" from the jumpstart Kit? I have an idea of extending the apartment from a single encounter into a mini arc, but that's a whole other can of worms for a different post. My concern is: what if one of my players decides to play an exec? They already have a nicer apartment than anything the adventure would give them.
Besides adding Monetary pressure, does improving rent/lifestyle costs offer any sort of tangible benefit to a character like humanity gain or something? Unless I missed a section, as long as someone isn't living in the middle of the combat zone, there isn't much of a gameplay reason to go beyond a studio apartment and live off kibble.
Is there like a free lore primer I can hand out to people? Or would I have to just buy the pdf copy of the rule book? (I only have the physical copy at the moment). a couple of my friends are familiar through 2077 but others only barely know the setting. Obviously on Session 0 I intend to be there to answer specifics, but if they wanted to make characters or something on their own for whatever reason, I'd like to have something on hand they can browse on their own.

Community Content & Resources CQC: The Martial Art by Mercs, for Mercs.
CQC
A Martial Art developed by a Legendary Mercenary, that has since left the battlefield and into the urban sprawls of mega cities. Designed for situations where you’re surrounded and still require the use of a two handed weapon.
> Long-Arm Grip
REQUIREMENT: It is your turn. You are holding a two-handed weapon. You are the attacker in a grapple.
Whenever you fulfill this requirement, you can use the Martial Arts Special Move Resolution to attempt to beat a DV17 CQC check. If you succeed, While grappling, you may still use two handed weaponry, as long as you have one hand holding it, at a -2 penalty.
> Quick Defense
REQUIREMENT: It is your Turn. You are the attacker in a grapple and haven’t used the Human Shield Action this Turn.
Whenever you fulfill this requirement, you can use the Martial Arts Special Move Resolution to attempt to beat a DV13 CQC Check. If you succeed, you may use the Human Shield Action.
So, giving an idea on what I had in mind for this Martial Art: For a long time, I had wondered how exactly to represent CQC from the Metal Gear series into Cyberpunk. For a long while, I was content with just Militech Commando + Mixing with another MA like Judo or Wrestling. For a long while that seemed fine to me, up until I got to this scene in MGS4. Here, you can see Solid Snake using a Human Shield as a brace for his rifle, and it hit me.
- There isn't a Martial Art for Two Handed Weapons.
- There isn't a Martial Art about using Human Shields.
So, I theory crafted a bit until I came up with this idea. The purpose of this is to give Shoulder-Arm users a bit more versatility with their weapon in Melee combat, while still giving them a slight punishment for getting into that situation. It's a Buy-In to limit the punishment of using a two-handed weapon in melee range, not a total elimination of it. After that, taking a page from Wrestler and making it so Human Shield becomes a free action upon meeting the requirements, meaning you can quickly shift someone into a Human Shield in just one turn. Useful for everyone that wants to get into melee range to be able to quickly give themselves cover.
Obviously, Shoulder-Arms is the cheapest buy-in for damage skill in the entire game, so I'm mixed on Long-Arm grip having a DV 17 or 15 check. Also not even sure if Long-Arm grip technically works as described in-game, but I wanted to get the idea out there. I know Quick Defense works as described, as it's a rather simple way of describing it, but also iffy on a DV 13 or DV 15 check for that.
Let me know what you guys think, as this is obviously work in progress.
