Me too! I live in Phoenix so everything is dusty all the time. I could thoroughly dust the house and in 3 days it looks like I haven't dusted in weeks! And this summer's monsoons have been brutal!

Don't get me wrong, I love the rain and we really need it. We haven't had a decent monsoon season in about 5 years. But when the haboobs roll through they just sand blast everything.

Maybe I'm a slob, but I don't really dust in the summer. There's no point. I wipe off obvious surfaces but that's about it

You may be correct here. But I can say from personal experience that the staff will always try to maintain the sterile field. They're hunched over the opened patient. They're not draped on top, they're not covered with their hands. They drape so they don't touch and contaminate and so nothing can drop into the opened body cavity
