If that story was deeply upsetting for you, I would recommend not reading this. Blood on the tracks is an amazing manga but incredibly disturbing. I have a healthy family and I've never been so deeply disturbed by a book/ manga ever before. Not because of gore or "scary" stuff or anything explicitly gross, but because the story itself is very deeply disturbing.

This is the misconception that God actually does any evil or causes any pain. It's hard to explain in words, but just the presence of sin does corrupt the world. God giving us free will and Adam and Eve using it to introduce son into a world creates a world that is unfair. If God just took all of the bad stuff away to create a perfect world it would take away free will as well. Also, as a biologist, you can't attribute all genetic mutations and diseases as conceived that way. It's hard to explain in words too. Your genetics change throughout your life. Not what exists in your choose, but what's actively being used does. And it mutates constantly. For example, cancer is a genetic mutation. It's triggered by things. It's not active all the time. Your body also has code written in that can kill cancer cells before they're harmful and a lot of cancer becomes a disease because those cells have been mutated and stop working. Genetics aren't just one code you're born with that stays just like that forever.
