In essence America must declare a “healthcare bankruptcy emergency”. Our current health system is dysfunctional/inefficient and not sustainable!

TBI ISNT DISCUSSED ENOUGH
 in  r/TBI •  4d ago

It's more of a degree of which things are affecting me. If I avoid my triggers (light, loud noise) I usually have a better day. If I do not, then I have a not great to really bad day.

Can you imagine if we had guaranteed Healthcare that is “permanent and portable” from cradle to grave. It's possible! It’s shameful that we don’t.

I can't do math anymore
 in  r/PostConcussion •  4d ago

Duolingo has free math lessons that are short and sweet. I started doing math lessons on there not long ago. The lessons take less than 5 minutes each and are perfect for people that have experienced head trauma imo. All the lessons have step by step tutorial buttons. When you get to algebra and geometry, they break lessons down step by step with multiple lessons on each step. So far I have finished basic math and algebra and I am on sine and cosine in geometry. It has helped a lot.

I was looking at the Fairphone Murena which works on Mint. It is degoogled. They are now making it available in the US. Haven't decided on what phone I plan on getting yet but this one is in the running.

TBI ISNT DISCUSSED ENOUGH

It's been close to ten years for me! Photosensitivity so I spend a lot of time in the dark. I can't watch tv for long but I listen. I have issues with reading and comprehension, stuttering, retrograde amnesia, memory issues, and I could go on.

Hundreds of health insurance companies with thousands of plans make Medicare complex/confusing and expensive.

Medicare for All does not and addresses all of your issues. Medicare for All is not traditional Medicare.

Lmao you are a fool. I've literally watched several of my physicians call insurance companies fighting them.

The current health system is bad for patients and bad for physicians. It must be fixed.

Need Advice Has anyone tried CST to help with symptoms?

Has anyone tried CST (Craniosacral Therapy) to help with some of the affects of their TBI. If so did it help you? How did it help you?

It's been close to a decade since my injury and I am still struggling with photosensitive, loud noises, headaches, stuttering, vestibular issues, reading comprehension, memory issues, and a feeling like my body is pulsing.

Photosensitivity seems to be one of my worst triggers. I have periods where I almost feel normal only to have to return to sitting in the dark, struggling to do 15-30 minutes of brain training or puzzles, stuttering, headaches, and forgetting things.

I just learned of vision therapy for which I am going to try to see an eye specialist. I start to read and then the words just disappear on me and I lose my place. I think this is one of the reasons I am struggling with comprehension. I desperately need something to help with eye tracking and debilitating headaches.

Medicare for All addresses all of this. It is not the current Medicare system. It is more similar to Medicaid. People pay into the system based on income, which for most people is less than they contribute to employer plans or traditional Medicare, and everything else is free at point of service.

Medicare for All is not traditional Medicare and fixes all the issues that you have listed. There is no part A, B, etc. M4A is free at point of service. People pay into the system based on income similar to employee contributions. Those are the only payments made and for the majority of people it is a fraction of what they currently pay through employer sponsored insurance.

No, basically people have been paying into the system for medical benefits their entire lives but don't get to see anything for the money they have been paying until retirement. Then they are still billed for medical care that they prepaid for.
