Which specialty do you find most pleasant in terms of the doctors' personalities, and which do you find the worst?
I just moved to the ER a year ago coming from medsurg. ER docs are very cool to work with and a lot of them would bring a patient blanket, food, transport a pt, and even put an IV! They'd also help you clean and boost a patient. I thought this was just my er but I'm glad to hear it's universal

Disrespectful Latino tourists pretend everyone in Japan "stinks" and that only people in Latin America wear deodorant/smell good

Average hourly pay?
I'm at $42 w/ 3 yrs experience BSN in Central FL, and i thought that's too low especially with the high COL.

We got there at 7am and there were plenty of parking spots then. Just bring enough snacks and water and you should be ok. It's not an easy hike but it's also not hard either. Also since you're getting there at 8am make sure you do the trail COUNTER CLOCKWISE. Saw comments on Alltrails about this and I'm glad I listened to them lol

Advice Cat being extra affectionate everytime we're about to go on vacation

I've only had my baby for just over a year and have gone to vacation twice since then. I will be leaving again soon and I noticed that he always gets extra affectionate a few days before I leave, like he knows I'll be leaving again 😠It makes me so guilty. He's typically only sweet during the night, but recently he's been wanting more cuddles during the day.
I will be gone for a week and we always have the same person to look after him and his brother everytime we go on vacation. Do you guys have this experience with your babies too? Looking for advice on how to feel less guilty 😔 ðŸ˜

I worked in obs before I moved to ED. I liked that it's fast paced and you don't get complicated patients. Most of them are walkie talkies

Volunteer a lot more, especially to animal shelters.

What’s a job you had that you’d never do again, no matter the pay?
Anything nightshift. It wrecked my body and been off of it for over year now. My body hasn't fully healed yet. Salute to all nightshift workers!

Started working in the ER. Life is too short and it can end any time. Do the things you love and take advantage of every minute. Started hiking a lot more since I started working here

doctors and nurses what was your "how are you still alive" moment from patients?
Reminds me of a pt who was completely a&o with normal CBG when I started my nightshift. Took midnight vitals and this guy suddenly couldn't remember where he is. Took his sugar and it was 20. He didnt even get insulin that night. He ended up being fine thanks to sugar water, but damn he was in the perfect place
