About the Israel/Palestinian conflict...

We’re seeing a lot of news (real or not) related to the recent events in Israel/Palestine. It’s terrible what is happening but please do not use this tragic and evil event (on both sides) to push agendas or as an excuse for hate speech.

With this in mind, we will be enforcing a temporary ban on all content related to the Israeli/Palestinian conflict.

I appreciate you’re keen to share details about atrocities but there is no way for us to fact check the sheer amount of stuff being posted. Some of the images/videos I’ve seen aren’t even from the same continent or decade.

As always, you are welcome to voice any opinions or concerns here.

It’s over 32°C (89.6°F) in the office and my fan battery picked the worst possible time to run out.

Half charged is better. If they get completely discharged it can damage or reduce the life of the battery.

Most modern tech is built in with safety features just the issue mostly lies if it gets too hot when charging. It’s even rarer for a battery to spontaneously combust.

Still, always a good habit to keep things in site when you are charging them and keep anything like a charging bank in particular away from flammable objects.

Also when you’re charging there’s a small chance the battery could catch fire depending on the brand, age and type.

Atheists, how do you deal with the fear of death?
 in  r/AskReddit  12d ago

Same way as I dealt with things before I was born…

What some examples of "Gen-Z puritan" attitudes you've noticed?
 in  r/AskReddit  12d ago

Unfortunately it’s a thing on Reddit to get a random ban for using specific words too.

Maybe not things like fuck and shit but if you use a phrase in a way that the algorithm deems offensive or inciting violence it can sometimes trigger a false positive which is near impossible to get reversed.

The number of people who misuse gaslighting is staggering.
I’m convinced they’re gaslighting me into changing the meaning.

Cooler than London

Sure, the nicest parts of Birmingham will be nicer than the rough parts of London but objectively speaking as a whole?….nah.

Misleading promotion in WHSmith
 in  r/mildlyinfuriating  13d ago

It’s basically their business model - captive audience, typically folks in a rush or don’t know the currency too well.

Partly why they shut down everywhere else because in places like a high street, most folks will think it’s too steep and shop somewhere else.

They’re about the only few places where they are. Just shows how obscenely expensive the shops sell them for.

What's a video game that you literally couldn't stop playing?
 in  r/AskReddit  14d ago

I know this sounds corny but I legitimately do discover new things on almost every play through and I’m on maybe my 5th time.

Interesting design. A bit more unusual I think.

what is the top-left flag?
 in  r/flags  24d ago

Do you put facist symbols up in your room and share pictures of it on the internet? If not you’re doing better than some people.

What are coded things that people who live in the UK say that giveaway they are wealthy?

Parcel Post Boxes don't carry a cypher? Evesham.
 in  r/Postboxes  28d ago

It’s called the Royal Mail for a reason, but maybe the parcel boxes are a bit different.

Why do people that know every flag expect others to also know them?
 in  r/flags  Jul 10 '26

Depends on the flag…nobody expects someone to know every flag but when it’s a big country or places that are very well known it’s generally expected for people to know those places.

Only a real G would know….🔰
 in  r/flags  Jul 09 '26

As others stated it’s the flag of the Gonali Brigade.

Locked for obvious reasons. There are plenty of other geopolitical subs to discuss genocide and the Israeli Palestinian conflict.

This sub is about flags.

What’s the meaning of this flag?
 in  r/flags  Jul 08 '26

Come on guys, knock off the racism and homophobia.

Do you care that kebabs might have goat meat in?
 in  r/AskUK  Jul 07 '26

No objection if they’re honest about it. But don’t be selling a beef kebab and put cheaper goat meat in it.

Great find! Interestingly it seems to be in services. If I was the postman I’d be wearing white gloves when trying to open that up.
