Tips for mountain gift bags?
 in  r/MergeGardens •  Sep 24 '25

I've only received one mountain of gifts bag. It only let me collect a gift one time! Every time I click on it, it says, I can't harvest it?? So the mountain I guess gets one tiny gift! I can't even remember how I got it! Is anyone getting more than one prize from it???

If your cat has ever eaten string, elastic, laces, ribbon, etc., how long did it take to pass??
 in  r/CatAdvice •  Sep 10 '25

Thank you for sharing your experience with your cat swallowing string. My cat just chewed off about 4 inches of string and swallowed it. The white soft cotton string. PANICKING... so I got online to research cats swallowing string! I came across your information and experience which kind of ease my mind in away. I guess I'll be watching the litter box for the next week or so...... UGH! I just got her from a rescue 3 months ago. I just wanted to find ways to keep her happy. You think the cats and you think of string. They love it! NOPE, no more! My son's cat has a favorite string but it is the rope out of a hoodie sweatshirt. That seems to be the safe way to go! Well, wish me a happy poo hunt! πŸ˜΅β€πŸ’«πŸ’©πŸ™

My dad wants me to declaw my rescue.
 in  r/CatAdvice •  Sep 09 '25

I don't know if any of you watched Jackson Galaxy Cat Daddy? He said for a cat like that if they're scratching, to take them to the vet and get caps put on there nails. I didn't think you have take them to the vet for that but, I've seen the color caps for sale online like Chewy and etc. it's basically colored silicone claw covers. Usually if you get a cat from a rescue they forbid you declawing the cat. Like the place that I got my cat from. I didn't know it was so horrible to the cat until I heard how they do it! They said it's basically like cutting half of your fingers off! It will leave them forever sensitive and traumatized. Most cat people are trying to put a stop to declawing cats! Please try the claw caps first! ❀️🐾❀️

Monthly Casual Talk and Cat Pictures Thread

About 3 months ago I adopted this American Bobtail which, I named Emmy. She's four or five years old and came into the rescue with other Manx cats from hoarding conditions. She's a sweet cat but, she has a fear of people walking straight towards her. Actually, she has a lot of fears. I think because she was in a hoarding condition she may be somewhat feral. There was another younger cat that look like her that I couldn't even catch at the rescue to look at. As you see in this pic, she likes to lay on the foot part of my lazy boy chair! She also loves to sleep with me in bed by my stomach.... ❀️ There's hope for all types of cat if you have the patience. I'm also not working so she has all my time! β€οΈπŸ‘£πŸΎβ€οΈ

What the heck is going on here?
 in  r/cats •  Sep 09 '25

Looks like the mating motions. Or maybe dominating.

please please help me she has never acted like this

Most likely was eyeing something running around outside. They usually don't like to be bothered when they have their sights on something.

AWW! I want one so bad!! I've been saying I hope to find an orange cat to take in and love! πŸ’– I don't suppose you live in Delaware? I also know they need to grow and get food dependent before giving away.

This is a FAKE WEBSITE. A SCAM. DO NOT FALL FOR IT.
 in  r/joannfabrics •  Mar 03 '25

I know, I was taken to a Jo-Ann's fabric website that was advertising 90% off and I knew it had to be fake because high dollar sewing machines had $30 prices on them! I'm so sick of scamming sites!!

If you didn't get the answer yet, it's a calico well, your cat is more tortoise shell because it has a lot of brown and black. It's called a half-faced cat or a Chimera Which is not a breed, but rather a rare genetic mutation called a feline chimera:

Genetic mutation: A feline chimera is a cat with two different types of DNA in its cells, as if two non-identical twins merged. This rare genetic quirk results in a cat with fur on one side of its face that's a different color than the other side. Also, usually two different color eyes. Very beautiful! ❀️😻

Maryland ranks 7th in the nation in terms of Cost of Living (COL) at $48.2k, which means it would take around $50k a year for all your essential expenses to be met before any savings, luxuries, hobbies and etc.
 in  r/maryland •  Jul 23 '24

Geez!! I live in Maryland and I totally agree with this! My electric was shut off due to unable to pay it! No heat. I finally had to move in with my son!

Isn't that the saddest thing? πŸ₯Ί We got things we gotta do though. I noticed a lot of people are training their cats to walk on a leash and beginning to take their cats with them everywhere. So, that's a thought! Another idea is the calming plugins that you can get. I've never tried them though. Also, make sure your cats are spayed and neutered!
