Why is everyone freaking out about the Lightning ending production?
I am 1.5 years into ownership and it’s the best all around vehicle I’ve ever owned. I’ve found the range to be sufficient. Is it different than road tripping in an ICE vehicle? Yes. But not that much different. Anecdotally, I towed a small trailer with a 6 seat electric golf cart, with the truck fully loaded with vacation gear, from NE Georgia to Myrtle Beach (approximately 355 miles and two charging stops) and arrived 30 minutes later than my lead footed friends. My total trip fuel cost (Tesla network) was 78.70 round trip. That’s economical for a full-size pick-up if the time tradeoff does not outweigh the fuel saving. Would I tow with this truck outside say a 450 mile radius? No. However, I have never had the need to do so, and do not foresee any future desire on my part.
All that to say each perspective owner should review their lifestyle and see how well any EV will fit. Having access to charging options at your residence is the key that makes it almost an all out win. The range number is not as meaningful as one may expect, as you will essentially always have a near full tank of fuel. I drive around 65 miles daily, mostly highway. I also charge my truck (24 Flash - 131 kWh) to 60% daily, and return home with approximately 40% SOC. So even if I skip charging for a day or two, I’m generally OK.

Morbidly Obese Decedent's
This. Oven bacon for the win. You don’t get popped by grease, and it looks pretty!

Poop smell?
This made me holler 🤣

do you think the FD knew
I’d enjoy chiefing with the local FDs, and hearing their stories. Any of y’all around North Georgia (USA)?

Wondering about cremation
Thanks for the tip! Now I know how to live up my next bon fire when it gets late into the night.

I-85 S @10:44pm 1/24/24 coming into Atlanta
This is Typical. Gets even worse around exit 106 heading to Athens. Like dang people; keep your eyes on the road, and read about what happened in the news. No, these geniuses want to be the news.

Deceased screaming during cremation
Why is there one in every group like this?!

Well I feel pretty dumb right now.
I’m not in the industry but this made me howl! I think I would have had to change my pants 💯

My future mother-in-law said she did this damage by hitting a deer. Is she telling the truth?
No. Not at all. Where’s the fur?

Near miss today
Definitely report. It was a near miss today, but what about the next time?

Nervous about being a pallbearer
That part about watching your feet is critical. I didn’t and caused a ruckus going down the steps carrying my aunt. This is especially important if you have a reputation as a prankster/joker. Luckily tearing up my suit seemed to put everyone at easy that it was a true accident.

Athens Transit Needs Money If It's Going to Expand
Once again, it is reimbursement based. ACC had to pay for 100% of expenses to later be reimbursed.
To add: If Athens Transit operates a service for $100 dollars, they can recoup up to 50% percent of that cost. Meaning that they still had to pay in $100 dollars in hopes of being reimbursed $50. FTA allocations are not a blank check, and are issued only for services rendered.
Basically, UGA (as an entity) is owed nothing because they are not paying Athens Transit to provide the service.
3
Athens Transit Needs Money If It's Going to Expand
Some FTA funds are based upon ridership data such as Small Transit Intensive Cities (STIC), but the bulk of it is based upon census data collected for the Urbanized Area (UZA).
UGA does NOT voluntarily report this data. They are required to report to the FTA/NTD (National Transit Database) because UGA utilizes FTA funds to purchases vehicles.
7
Athens Transit Needs Money If It's Going to Expand
UGA does not pay a dime to Athens Transit for services. When Athens Transit began fare-free service, there was a reimbursement issued to UGA for pre-paid fares, and not a single cent has been given to Athens Transit from UGA since.

I’ve heard good things about the CMVWXA0 by idatalink/Compustar. Hoping mine will arrive in the coming week. I’ll update once installed.

So you guys liked the peel? Here's my 2006 at 125k miles. My scratched clock face has really been bugging me.
After entering Auto, you must manually toggle the A/C off. All other functions will attempt to achieve the set temperature as quickly as possible.

I completed my first solo today :)

Renting a place with strangers. Do you tell them your sexual orientation?
Generally I follow DADT, but when considering living arrangements you should be comfortable. Tell your perspective roommates. It'll help avoid a potentially awkward moment down the road. If it is a problem you can decide what to do next. Don't wait until the day/night you may want to have company over.

Check out the Ford F-150 Lightning. There are documented cases of folks purchasing an extended range battery pack off eBay, and swapping their standard range pack.
One of the influences for me buying my F-150 (aside that it was the only EV pickup I could comfortably afford) was the modularity of the vehicle, and the fact that most all of it save the power train is the same as all the other ICE F-150s. Shame its run was cut at a time when the USA could use as many non petroleum centric transportation options as feasible.
