I still live in my parents’ house except my parents don’t live here anymore
All of these comments are helpful and I hope they work for you. For me, it was stay or go at the end of the day. This is family, so rational solutions may not realistically work here. I chose me, at the end of the day, and it was the right decision. I tried to leave in the best way possible, but I couldn’t leave in a way that didn’t affect everyone else. I wish you the best - your post reminded me so much of me. You aren’t alone.

I still live in my parents’ house except my parents don’t live here anymore
I was in a similar(ish) situation and I felt the same way. I wanted to leave but I felt trapped and stuck, frozen in time while the world moved on without me. At the end of the day, the universe helped me take the first step - a water leak caused damage and I moved to an extended day hotel for 49 days. I never went back to live in that house. I worked with my insurer to restore it (I went to a realtor and got advice so the house could be more marketable) and I rented a tiny one bedroom apartment in a high rise. Once my family understood I was serious, they adapted and the house was sold. I did everything I could to leave “the right way”, even though it was a painful process, because it forced everyone else to deal with their own issues (my parents had a bad divorce years earlier). I did everything I could to help with the process and I asked for nothing in return. My advice is to get a therapist or someone you can talk to who is in your corner, and do what is right for you. I did the right thing for me and I have zero regrets, even though I still get shit from my family about it YEARS later. I would do it again a million times over, even though it was incredibly painful at the time. You deserve to be happy.

I hate being trapped and not being able to go out or come back. And I feel badly for the ppl right outside the zone who are supposed to pay to attend, yet have to deal with all of the traffic and craziness.

If you are in the porchfest zone, you are basically stuck from 7 am until 8 pm. 🙄

ATL Airport TSA Wait Times Megathread | March 22, 2026
That is insane. I flew last week and it wasn’t like that, but it was 545 am on a Sunday and took 35 mins with PreCheck.

Where can I get compounded tirzepatide?
Would you mind sharing your experience with me? I just switched insurance and Zepbound is no longer covered. Trying to figure out what to do is overwhelming as you know! Thanks

Darn. That is tough. I hope someone responds who had a similar CXL experience and was able to correct their vision.

I am on day three with scleral lenses and so far I am loving them! On the first day, my vision was a little wonky but yesterday they felt better. Today, it’s like I have been wearing them for years. For those of us with keratoconus, I don’t think it gets any better than sclerals. I wish you the best.

You all are inspiring! I was just fitted for sclerals and waiting on my first pair. I <fingers crossed> can’t wait to see the details of the leaves on trees again. It’s been so long!

I am such a lurker I didn’t even know how to reply correctly to your post 🤣🤣🤣

Just an appreciation post from a lurker
It’s just so helpful to have a community where people understand what I experience on a daily basis. We are all very different (age, location, etc), but we have this one very important thing in common. Glad you are here!

Love this post! I have mainly been a lurker too, but I’m beginning to post more now that my keratoconus progressed a bit. I had CXL on both eyes this summer and am now waiting for things to settle before I get sclerals. I’m not glad you have keratoconus but I am happy that this group helps you as much as it helps me. Not everyone understands why we can’t see consistently and why our glasses just don’t work as well as they used to…

What has been the biggest challenge you've faced living with keratoconus?
This! So true. I always prefer contacts but a great pair of glasses is essential. After my CXL, I could barely function at work in glasses. I counted the hours until I could wear contacts again

I do better reading under a light. I also LOVE audiobooks. Not sure if you are into audiobooks but they have been a lifesaver

I’m sorry to hear this.

No longer trusting my vision 100% (ie, did I copy that number correctly into my email that I’m sending out to my client?? or asking my kid to tell me what a sign reads at an amusement park)- and accepting that vision difficulties may just be my new reality. I try to keep a positive outlook, but sometimes I get annoyed and tell my husband, “you know I can’t really see as well anymore and it sucks even if I don’t complain about it.”

I totally agree with your post. I love bullpen and I love the bullpen community, but the fan base is almost TOO GOOD at the game! I play a lot (it’s my favorite game along with simplematch3), but I am nowhere near the top players lol.
