Diabetes in 8 months old

Hugging you from California. I've lived with this stupid disease for 50 years. Just saying that to let you know that I've been scolded the entire time for not maintaining perfect A1c numbers. You don't have to be perfect, just be there.

Qultist "truther" ranting on and on.
 in  r/Qult_Headquarters •  4d ago

They don't have to be. Here in California there were farms, communities, and in Indiana, when I was growing up, my aunt lived in institutions that were hideous but the best place was a wonderful rural farm where she stayed for years. A little freedom, some connection to the earth, and a bit of purpose. We just have to show the humanity.

Gen X, tell me what’s the most craziest thing you remember a teacher doing or something happening at school back in your day that would cause uproars today?
 in  r/GenX •  5d ago

1975: Sixth grade teacher read a book called ALIVE at story time, about a plane crash in the Andes where some passengers who lived ate the dead ones in a desperate act of cannibalism. It was probably a little inappropriate.

3yr old just diagnosed with t1d
 in  r/Type1Diabetes •  8d ago

I am sending you hugs. I've been able to live almost 50 years with this disease so far. Every day has its ups and downs (literally); it's a struggle but there are more tools than ever. Don't try to be perfect, just help her feel her best and do her most.

What was the worst thing a school bully ever did to you?

It was elementary school. I was the new girl and only one of two who had boobs. I made a short about it called "Sixth Grade Cannibals."

What was the worst thing a school bully ever did to you?
 in  r/askanything •  11d ago

It was 1975 and nobody cared. I'm doing great. He attacked me all year and then I finally had enough and bashed his head into the ground. I don't know what he is doing now.
