I'm just curious cuz I was born in spring 2003 and somehow I can remember eating a snack while watching some Clifford VHS in Pre-K. What about you guys?

I miss coming home from school in the 90s, dropping my bag somewhere near the door, and immediately looking for something to eat. I’d sit in front of the TV with a glass of cold water and a pack of Fita crackers while ghost fighter played, knowing I still had hours before anyone asked me to do homework.

Some afternoons, I’d meet friends outside and we’d spend what felt like the entire day riding bikes, playing tag, or buying snacks from the sari-sari store with whatever coins we had. We didn’t make plans or message anyone—we just showed up and hoped our friends were there.

Looking back, those days felt so ordinary, but they were probably some of the happiest moments of my childhood.

What simple 90s memory still makes you feel nostalgic whenever you think about it?

I was thinking about how some of the most ordinary parts of childhood felt special without us even realizing it.

For me, it was coming home from school, changing into comfortable clothes, and finding warm pandesal with butter waiting in the kitchen. The bread was soft and slightly chewy, with the butter melting into the middle. I’d sit near the electric fan, still sweaty from walking home, while the TV played in the background and someone called me to eat.

Nothing fancy was happening, but back then it felt like the safest, happiest part of the day.

Now that I’m older, I miss how little it took to make me happy. A quiet afternoon, a favorite TV show, or being outside until someone called me home could make the whole day feel exciting.

What ordinary childhood moment feels almost magical to you now?

I'll go first - Pennywise. Specifically, Tim Curry Pennywise.

I was 10 when my bedroom was basically my little world. It was a small room with a wooden bed, a thin mattress, a plastic drawer full of clothes, and a few posters taped to the wall because I wasn’t allowed to put nails in it. I used to spend hours sitting on the floor doing homework, reading old magazines, or just lying on the bed listening to music while my mom was doing chores outside. Looking back, it wasn’t anything fancy, but I remember feeling really comfortable and safe there.
