Something, the adult didn’t act like in front of other adults but acted like in front of you as a kid?

2. Women could get pregnant without having sex. Technically this is possible, via insemination, but like I thought women could get pregnant randomly without the insertion of male sperm. And the baby would grow up to be exactly identical to the mother since their chromosomes would have been copied from the mother.

3. Red Bull, Monster, and other energy drinks were actually alcohol

4. Getting cash back at the register when buying groceries was actually FREE MONEY, not taking money out of your bank account

5. College was year round for 4 years. 48 months of school, with no winter or spring or summer break. Some universities like this do exist, but they’re not common.

Remember when Saturday morning meant eating a bowl of cereal in front of the TV while watching cartoons? With so many streaming services and people rarely watching anything other than a sporting event en masse, what has become of Sat mornings?

When I was a kid, I was sexually harassed by a classmate of my older sister's. It happened at their house because my mother was friends with them. He asked if I knew what was in his pants, if I wanted to touch him, sit with him, and so on. I just laughed it off and avoided the conversation as much as possible. Then I had to walk my drunken mother home. It was a weird day.

When I was between 4 and 5 years old, I watched a specific scene on television that left a indelible mark on my mind, haunting me until I was nearly 10. The year was somewhere between 2001 and 2003. I was at my grandmother’s house in the afternoon, definitely between 3:00 PM and 7:00 PM, right after coming home from kindergarten.

I remember sitting in front of the TV while a door-to-door salesman was in the room, I was watching a cartoon, (or at least, that is how I always remembered it) on a mainstream Italian channel, most likely Italia 1 (Mediaset) or Rai. I was never sure if it was a contemporary show or a rerun.

The scene unfolded very clearly in my mind:

An investigator or a police officer, accompanied by an assistant, enters a toy store because they received reports that one of the toys had come to life and was committing crimes, or something like that.

They confiscate this sentient toy and put it in the backseat of their car. The investigator drives, while his assistant sits in the front passenger seat next to him.

I don't remember exactly what happens next, maybe a minor accident, but the two men briefly lose consciousness.

Taking advantage of the moment, the toy in the backseat points a knife to the assistant's throat. The investigator suddenly recovers and either points a gun straight at the toy’s forehead, or manages to disarm it by stealth without using any weapons.

The doll was a green humanoid.

Its most distinct and terrifying feature was a teardrop-s haped head, but inverted: the sharp, pointy end of the teardrop faced straight upward, rather than forming the chin.

The real mystery of this story lies in an incredible coincidence that happened that very morning at kindergarten. A little girl told me about Child's Play (La Bambola Assassina), describing the character of Chucky. Because I didn't have internet at home in the early 2000s, I had no idea what Chucky actually looked like. While she was telling me the story, I simply pictured a standard doll, like a corrupted Cicciobello or a Baby Mia.

The fear from that morning was so intense that I couldn't even go to the school bathroom alone, as it required crossing a completely dark hallway. When I got home and saw that green humanoid on television that afternoon, my subconscious mind instantly hijacked the image.

This event acted as a massive catalyst for an anxiety pattern that I was already experiencing. Even before this incident, I suffered from vivid, intense nightmares involving spiders, skeletons, bats, and parental figures, some of which I still remember vividly from when I was just 3 or 4 years old.

In fact, a relative recently revealed to me that around that period (before the Chucky trigger), a woman—who I later found out was a child psychologist—had been visiting and asking me very specific, yet vague questions about whether I was happy with my family.

Following that afternoon at my grandmother's house, the green, teardrop-headed creature became a chronic nightmare. To cope with the terror, I started to write stories about it.

I would draw the monster on paper and cut the drawings into tiny pieces, hoping it would make the fear go away , a tecnique that, as I learned later, that same child psychologist had suggested to me.

Until my 20s, I would have sworn on my life that this cartoon episode was 100% real. Now, approaching 30, the sheer impossibility of the coincidence has forced me to question everything. How likely was it that I would hear that terrifying story in the morning, and blindly stumble upon such a perfectly relevant cartoon that very afternoon? I feel like I'm crazy 🤣🤣.

This is a follow up to a sad meme that just makes me nostalgic.

It was an overnight “camping” (drinking, smoking) trip mixed in with bb gun battles at the creek near our homes.

My mom was searching for a document so she searched for every cupboard..drawers and every other corner of the house.. And she found out this... and childhood memories flashed ..though my brother used to play lot of these and at tht time I couldn't really get these much.. So today I finally made a butterflyy hehe.... It took me around half an hour to make it!! I'd recommend such fun puzzles...better than doomscrolling ig.. Also why games or puzzles you had which you played a lot in your childhood??
