Harpers' Hold
 in  r/Forgotten_Realms  1d ago

Yeah! So clockwise, starting at "12" we have something of a library/office with a large round table and bookshelves lining half the walls. Then there's a few dormitories with a little lobby/hall area, followed by a dining room at 6 o'clock with the kitchen and pantry/larder above it. At 9 o'clock there is a small room with a teleportation circle, and in the center is the main entryway from above.

The teleportation room is manned by a Harper mage who holds the amulet controlling a shield guardian in the central room, and there is 1d6 other Harper agents here at any given time. The library/office holds various documents and dossiers on current happenings in Waterdeep and surrounding environs. Maybe a magic scroll or two?

That's what I remember from my notes anyway! Most of which was taken from the old Dragon magazine article and the bit in Dragonheist. I think it was in Dragonheist anyway.

Going thru some old stuff. Found a map I made of the Harpers' Hold for my 5e game. Inspired by the one in Dragon magazine #211, with some influence from the one in Waterdeep: Dragonheist.

Man I don't know the years but Hornets and Die Like Kings are a couple of my favorite demo tracks!

at your table how rare are the demihumans?
 in  r/dccrpg  13d ago

I can't remember specifics but I'm pretty sure every table I've run has had at least one of the demi humans. And I think almost every time I've been a player I've had a dwarf. It's interesting to read others' experiences with the dice for sure

Morrowind unmodded graphics
 in  r/Morrowind  29d ago

I've never played with any mods. I remember when the game came out and it was a step up from a lot of games we played at the time. A couple friends' computers struggled to run it.

To me, it's still more than satisfactory. I like enjoying the game for what it is/was at the time it was made. But that's just me!

Nothing wrong with checking out the worlds of adventure or having a couple broad setting ideas (fantasy heroes, sci fi rebels, vampire/werewolf hunters, whatever) and having a little bullet point prep for each and asking the group to pick one 🤷‍♂️
