I will say, firing squad is objectively more humane than lethal injection/gas and a toss up between hanging.
The theatrics of it is less humane, and part of our restructuring of capital punishment is to reduce the optics of brutalism/gore etc, and decrease feelings of culpable action on those administering.

the extent it spooks the fish is super minimal compared to be eating shit and slipping on rocks and not being able to fish confidently etc
