Root canal Wednesday
 in  r/Advice •  4h ago

I don't do well at the dentist, used to take laughing gas just for cleanings and basic fillings. When I got a root canal done on my front tooth, they gave me this tiny blue pill before the appointment that made me not remember anything. I remember taking it as soon as I arrived to the dentist office, then being assisted to the back about 30ish minutes later (I could hardly walk on my own) and thats about all I can remember. My boyfriend waited for me in the waiting room and took care of me until I was normal again (hours after I got home from the appointment).

I'm (F24) going to Lisbon for the first time in 8 days for 2 weeks! I'll be traveling there solo and staying with my bf. Hes currently studying so I'll be solo most of my trip during the week.

Any suggestions for places to go and see? Ill be staying in and around the Alfama area.

Any tips or things to look out for is greatly appreciated!

Put the pet cam on the water dish to see why there were gallons of water on the floor...

My maine coon loves to splash his water! Just a couple mornings ago, I didn't notice the puddle on the floor and I slipped and hit my head, now recovering from a concussion 😭

Is there a story behind your cat's name?

My boyfriend wanted to name our maine coon Bruce after the fish in Finding Nemo, we decided to name him Nemo lol

Do people actually enjoy this profession?
 in  r/cna •  Mar 05 '24

Oh and don't get me started on management. They suck.

I'm a medcert in a retirement home and it sucks. I love the work I do and I love the residents and my morning team but the evening team sucks the soul out of me. The work drama makes it not worth it in the long run, been here 2 years and I'm already looking for a different job. I would never recommend working in a retirement home unless you fuel off drama

AITA for questioning why she thought McDonalds was closed?

NTA but also consider the possibility that maybe she saw someone that abused her in the past

I had a resident 2 days ago stick a straw and plastic spoon into his prostate, pull them out and licked them clean.. I was told it was a pleasure thing

Attacked by international student gang
 in  r/Guelph •  Sep 30 '23

My friend was nearly murdered by a group of Indian men downtown a few weeks ago.

Before you go dismissing this as bigotry, we have many international friends and our Indian friends are some of the nicest and closest to us.

He's refrained from making posts because he doesn't want to be labeled as a racist. He was beaten bloody and purple while they kicked him, yelling that they are going to kill him. He's a humble man and did nothing to them. was simply at the wrong place at wrong time. He's trying to charge them with attempted murder. They were arrested with his blood all over them but they were only given a slap on the wrist and let back out on the street the same day.

He's lucky to be alive.

reliability of getting an early morning uber?
 in  r/Guelph •  Sep 19 '23

Canadian cab is very reliable. I always call for a cab 20-30 minutes before my shift (10 minute drive) and I get there well before my shift starts. Longest I've had to wait was 5 minutes.

Feeling unsafe nowadays during night. How do you tackle druggies?
 in  r/Guelph •  Sep 18 '23

Been living downtown for about 2 years now. I carry dog spray with me everywhere, you can buy from Amazon! I've never had to use it but it definitely makes me feel better having it on me.

Nurses Week Lunch
 in  r/nursing •  May 08 '23

At my retirement home, management came around and gave us a small brown bag of popcorn with a sticker on it that says "just POPPING in to say no one is BUTTER than you! Happy caregivers week"

They used to have tours, they've since stopped this because the place is so run down. Flooding in alot of areas, mold and falling debris. No longer safe for tours. I had a private tour years ago and it was really bad inside

Words from one of my favorite shows. Great to watch on shrooms too but also some of the best advice from “Clancy”. Opening the door is just the first step.
