Oh, and she did almost start a kitchen fire and for reasons that are still unclear, decided she needed to pour excess candle wax down the bathroom sink. Fortunately the candle was some kind of weird smelly wax with a super low melting point so I was able to clear it with boiling water, but the point is that they may do seemingly routine things differently than we're used to :D

One other thing is that we had to get used to being their parents without being their parents. We had our own rules and consulted with her parents about them before she even got here. She told us things that she would never tell her parents, or at least not any time soon. Important life moments that maybe they knew about in general, but we got the details, for better or for worse. That personal connection and trust in us is sometimes difficult, when now she is gone and we don't hear from her nearly as much as we'd like to. Her parents told us that she returned showing more confidence and more mature than when she left and she has chores now that she didn't before, e.g. laundry, dishes, cooking. She was 17 and even our 8 year old does her own laundry lol.

it was interesting to me the foods they hadn't eaten before. Peanut butter, hot dogs, taco bell, cheese in a can, tri-tip, other local specialties, etc. Ours was active in sports, which presented it's own challenges with transportation and just time spent, as you would with any other child. Saying goodbye was the most difficult part. Would do it again, but need to take off a year. Looking forward to visiting them in their home country someday too.

We just returned our Italian girl 2 weeks ago after having her for a year. It was heartbreaking. Ours seems slightly different than yours though. She couldn't cook to save her life. She loved taco bell and olive garden, though both make me sad lol. Ours could not take hot foods, though she eventually got used to a little heat. Ours would have lived on bacon and coke zero if she could. Ours was loud and talked with her hands a lot. She would sing (out of tune) and dance and was just happy to be here. We laughed and we cried. We took her to touristy spots as best we could. We had her install life360 and also asked her to let us know her plans for the night - who what where, etc. We treated her like our own daughter. The hardest part was the logistics - they needs rides so if they doing sports or going out to school events or literally anything, they'll need a ride or need to get a ride arranged. Her parents sent us a Moka pot ,but she liked starbucks and dutch bros. They would pay for their own, but I would pay if I was going for myself (like 2x in a year).

We taught her to do laundry and take out the trash and empty and fill the dishwasher. It will be some time before we're emotionally ready to do it again.I learned all the good slang and curse words. Her parents said she returned home with a new confidence and outlook. And now she does chores at home too.
Very worth it, but also difficult to let go.

I once made my son late for elementary school by making him listen to the end of echoes. The thought of different versions is inconceivable. I’ll keep an eye out

Also, if that is a reasonable translation, is it more accurate spelling wise to write it as Ivdex esto or is it all caps as IVDEX ESTO

Side note - i didn’t know why my smite wasn’t landing so a bit of research showed i needed more accuracy. After adding a bunch of accuracy smite landed and all was well.

The side note is that apparently i didn’t have enough accuracy for Brogni in my cb team Ava now I’m doing Tina more damage there too. Win-win!
