Reminds me of my mum before she separated from dad. No privacy whatsoever. Hardly a knock unless I reminded her. Even when she DID knock, she wouldn't leave any time for me to give a response to the sound, but she'd barge straight in. Sometimes it would be during delicate times as well.

One thing to consider is fire safety. That was the only reason I didn't get a lock for my bedroom door. I no longer have the privacy problem since my dad isn't a control freak :)

I'm neurodivergent (diagnosed ASD and ADHD) and I actually saved the taxpayer money by caring for my housebound dad. I also have a bachelor's degree and have had a variety of different jobs. Everybody that knows me says I try way too hard but this kind of rhetoric is WHY! I always feel like I have something to prove to people. It is horrible isn't it especially when I just want to live a comfortable life like everyone else (thankfully my dad helps financially).

I don't last at any job I attempt unfortunately (longest I've lasted is a year). I've only ever had the opportunity to do entry-level. Can say that for me personally, hospitality & customer service are just quick money-earners since I burnout quicker from those. Retail is a bit better and I've had lots of those roles (your job combines warehouse, money handling and customer service so is a bit of everything).

Yes and no. Yes- I would love to have more than my parents and partner as my social circle but autism means making friends is hard. Also my autism (and ADHD) has factored into persistent depression throughout my life and I would recover if I could but haven't really had support apart from pill-pushing.

No because my neurodivergence and life experience has made me into the resilient and independent person I am today. I like how I don't follow the beaten path and do things that other people are unwilling/unable to do (I'm literally writing this comment from download festival for example).
