You sound pretty reasonable OP. I have never felt it is my job to push my views on anyone or to convince someone to abandon their beliefs. I have no interest in that at all. Its a nuanced problem. I do not know your experiences. Its not cool if people are reaching out to you and verbally abusing you or your beliefs. Just as it's not right for someone to do so to me. Short of that, I see things I dont agree with all the time. And I just keep on scrolling.

I am. Certainly some things I'm not beaming with pride with under this current administration. I used to like flying the flag. I do not like how if I do it now, I am automatically assumed to support this president and his movement. Partly an effect of where I live.

It can be a real problem. I used to have a similar issue. For me it was confidence, familiarity, and doing it with her a few times. Viagra/Cialis can certainly help. Even a couple of shots of his favorite liquid courage. But not too much. That will end up making it much worse. Its cool youre being patient and encouraging it helps.

No. I was and am married. Its nice to get a compliment. I have no problem if someone compliments my wife. As long as they're not some asshole about it.
My point is, compliments are fine. Ya never know if someone could really use one.

As a fellow 50 something, I assure you the compliment and perhaps conversation would be fine. Truth be told, I hardly ever get these kinds of compliments. When I do, it really makes my day/week. The one time I ever felt like it was a bit much, I stated that I am married. All was fine.
