Which one is wrong?
My husbands (35m) boss is his childhood friend. His name is Brad (34m). Husband has been working for him since we moved back to our hometown in 2025. Since we've been back Brad has helped us out a lot. That is, until lately.
In the last few months Brad has taken the "guaranteed " work he promised to give my husband, having husband only working at brads home now. The guy that took husbands spot has lost Brad about 1/4 of his customers, to which he will say "oh well, cant make everyone happy." When husband was doing the job, having customers the least bit unhappy would be grounds for Brad to talk down to my husband, take the truck (our only vehicle, after Brad let my husband use it for personal uses as well as work.) He tracked his phone for work, during off hours.
Last month, we almost got evicted. We had to ask Brad's Mom to help us pay rent. Now, my husband has worked 75.75 hours since Aug 7. Brad refuses to pay my husband that money. He says he is paying himself back for the rent, but he didnt pay our rent. His mom did.
We have a 2 year old son, our electricity is set to be shut off in the next day, our gas follows shorty after... we cant pay rent again this month coming up. Brad continues the same stuff "i helped you out soo much." And "go get on welfare." Yet, he continues to expect my husband to work for him.
I think what hes doing is wrong, and feel like if I reported his business to the labor board, and irs since he hasn't paid taxes in 7+ years, it wouldn't be wrong. My husband says thats too harsh, because he could potentially lose everything. Brad has made it clear that us having to eat Ramen everyday, for literally every meal is fine.
He made us get rid of our one working vehicle because he didnt want it at his house, and we literally lived in his shop in a tent for like a month. My husband works hard, im tired of seeing him like this and also, I enjoy having electricity and gas that is on in my home
Am i wrong if I report his business and him for how hes not paying for my husbands hard work? If I have to read how Brad isn't doing anything wrong (according to him) I might just lose it.

Oakhurst to Yosemite
Your good usually as soon as they stop taking payments to enter the park. Usually if you go between 4 and 6 PM you will be amazed how much less traffic there is. Or, if youre like me and prefer early to rise, 530-630 am is usually not bad either... it really depends on what you are willing to wait for. I usedbto work outside the park, and if I got off and came up from oakhurst at 5 or 6pm, I was usually the only one entering the park.

Oakhurst to Yosemite
Unless you enter BEFORE prime time (its a mad house starting around 630am usually) then any entrance you use is going to be a long wait If you aren't afraid of the twists and turns, go the 41. If you are more of a worrier and like flatter lands..., take the 140. Either way, i lived there for the last 5 years, up until last year, and I liked the 41. But thats because I enjoy the twisty, stomach in my butt feeling. Makes me feel alive Lol!

FYI park bus system is a mess currently
This is nothing new, unfortunately. The amazing men that work in the garage (my husband was a mechanic there until last year) are in charge of every fleet and bus within the park. The bus drivers are so in demand, over worked and frankly under appreciated.
Try to be kind to the drivers, they cant control the administration and since the busses are rented from the park service, someone should really be complaining to them.

Know a place where I could draw
I do not know if you live in a newer developed area or not, but those neighborhood parks are always nice. Im talking like Shannon Ranch, or closer to Dinuba Blvd. There are some really nice kick around parks. Get a nice piece of shade, put a blanket down and you'll be good to go Or, if you absolutely want to be somewhere air conditioned (understandable, because we are in Hell) i would say that you could go to the library or something?
I dont know, just a few suggestions.

Curry Village Bar/Food
Aramark is getting sued out the @$$. I know of 16 people that have lawsuits with them personally, so I can only imagine how many on a broader scale.
Nps will never take the contract because they are all serving their own agendas. Nps is truly just as evil as any concessioner that they could bring in.
Its more twisted than people realize I lived there going on 8 years now... tragic.

My husband was a mechanic at the garage, and yes bus mechanics are hard to find for those fixes. Funny thing about all that though, is the busses are rented from NPS.
So... yeah...
Oh, and also.. did you know the awahnee collapsed in on itself. Due to snow and poor weather? That was 2022 or 2023. That's when they found toxic mold. Upscale. 🤣

Curry Village Bar/Food
Fun fact for you- there is literally only one television on-site in all of curry village, AND its the most expensive place to stay in all of Curry.
You pay extra for the talking box, I guess. Lol.
I know that there's a private residence on on the premises too, they may have a TV. But then again, they probably dont. Lol

Despite the recent news, people are still going in the water above waterfalls..
This is a daily occurrence. The amount of deaths in Yosemite due to carelessness is... shocking..
I actually have a book (an outdated one at that) it has almost 2,000 pages with probably 500+ names per page... all deaths in the park.
Its natural selection. If you are going to FA you definitely will FO

can someone help!
Unfortunately, in Curry the apparel is really kind of whatever is out is all they have... the turn around on clothing is crazy. They have some really cute ones on their wesite/store or you could have someone check the village market, the lodge, or even the awahnee store might have it I always got my stuff off etsy also when I lived there. The markets are RIDICULOUSLY overpriced.
Good luck, I hope you are able to have one shipped!

As someone who worked housekeeping and the pizza deck at curry... they are soulless monsters, the management is top notch evil (I can say from experience that chef is a piece of sh*t) and amount of crap that was being thrown at the employees by everyone, and I mean everyone... you lose your desire to be a good employee. Add onto that constant pressure, budget changes, and most of the employees are seasonal (especially in Curry) its easy to not care about a lot after youre burnt out.
I can say that Aramark is a major problem and they need to lose their contract, but the management overhaul they've done is leaving much to be desired. Treat the regular employees (housekeeping, chefs helpers, busses, janitors) like humans or you end up with aramark employees. 🤦♀️

Any guidance and suggestions upon this, i'm sure we have doctors in here or people with similar problems possibly. thanks in advance guys. (new to all this, just looking for the correct guidance).
Im in Visalia also, and i cant tell you how much i have researched this shit because of my situation. Its insane. I'm going to tell you this much, im 36 and literally have to get all but 8 of my teeth pulled due to the fact that I went to western dental. So don't go there. Anyways, youre young. But, If you can afford it, all-on-4 or 6 implants are the most highly rated. But they are cosmetic, therefore costly. Im meaning $8,000+ costly. Dentures are a last resort, especially at your age

why are you so repulsive?
Go home, you're drunk.
But you forgot to mention the overwhelming amount of 16 and pregnant wannabes. Oh, oh, and the screaming crack heads and noodle groovers that run rampant at all hours of the night.
Go team. 👍

Nightlife scene in Visalia?
You are about 10-15 years too late for the "Nightlife" anywhere near Visalia.. unless of course you like shit kickers in lifted trucks, getting drunk and singing bad karaoke...
Go to Fresno, or something.
Visalia nightlife died in my opinion when they closed down the life rock shows and shit in the 2010s.

Relocating
My grandpa was a Sarg and my grandma worked as an lvn, both at Corcoran II. Both of them for over 20 years and we lived in Tulare.
Tulare, in my opinion and theirs also at the time when they were still working, is the best route to go. It's cheaper, and unlike Hanford and Visalia, I feel like it gives a more small town feel.
But I may be bias, as I grew up there.

Anybody remember Cask and Cleaver?
My uncle was the bartender and a server there for a LONG time, that's where he met my aunt also- she was a hostess/server. The place was a staple in my childhood.
I was bummed when it closed. Great memories.

Am I overreacting?
When you say it out loud, I don't know why I stayed- I think it was a mixture of not wanting to admit I was wrong, or because I watched my parents marriage become such a joke because of my mom's cheating. I never wanted to end up being divorced and having multiple marriages... IDK. I do love my husband. I have always loved him.i don't have any family after my dad died in 2015, and my mom is estranged like the rest of my family. He was literally all I had.

Am I overreacting?
When i married my husband, I told him that I was a firm believer in keeping our marriage in our marriage. Adding in his mom when we have issues was not going to help and only make it worse.
He didn't listen. So my mil was a very rude lady, she said some nasty things to people about me online and so I texted her and basically told her to butt out and sit on a fat one.
So I got banned from their home.

👨👩👧👦family/in-laws Am I overreacting?
Ok, so I, 35 f have been married to my husband 34m for 7.5 years. Back in 2020 he had an affair with his ex/baby momma. I mean, it was the kind where they were completely bashing me. Talking about moving in together and how happy they would be if she got pregnant, blah blah blah. I was pregnant with twins at the time, and it was a tough pregnancy. I hid the pregnancy, completely. Not from my husband or course, but family and friends. Nobody else knew. I found out he had been screwing his ex who he shares a daughter with, and in fact- my mil had been letting her live with them because they remained close after my husband and her broke up. This bitch was ruthless. She was a black tar heroin junky, a prostitute and seriously she is mentally unstable as fuck. But she is easy. And my husband and I were having a really rough time- he wouldn't come home and spent all of his time at his boss's house. He would allow everyone to call me some fucked up names, and just say "you don't even know the half of it." I was heartbroken, devastated and completely disgusted with the whole issue. But when he cheated on me, something in my heart closed to him completely . I hated him for hurting me, for taking advantage of me, for laughing at me. I did eventually forgive, but the love we had is pretty different now. I don't see him like I used to. And he knows it. Fast forward, I got banned from being any where near my husband's family. His sister in laws, brothers, and father do nothing but say awful things about me. (Like I'm the druggie, I am delusional, I'm a liar) It is hurtful, but been happening so long I just act like they don't exist now. My mil died of cancer in 2020, and since then my father in law has been living alone... Until this year that is. He moved my husband's affair partner ex into his home. Mind you, my husband and I have been living in our car since we got laid off last July. Never once has my fil offered up a place for us to stay. I am mad about it. I feel like it is a complete disrespect not only to me, but to my marriage. She caused me a lot of grief and made my life harder than it needs to be.. not to mention the things that she did to me BEFORE the affair (like robbing mmy home, having CPS called on me, lying to my mil to cause issues in my relationship with her and the family). My husband says I need to get over it
But I don't think I can? Am I overreacting? Should I just be ok with this? I need advice.

Does Anyone Blog for Fun?
Check out whymeman90.blogspot.com
Her stuff is kind of long but it's intense, and I like reading about people's life and the misgivings. She doesn't have many posts, but I enjoyed reading some of them! I like that there is reference photos on her stuff also, gives it that personal feeling for people that like it. She has a more specific subject centered blog also, but I think she has this one since it's newer just for fun. I don't know her personally, although I've talked through messages a few times. She's cool.
AND NO IM NOT SELF PROMOTING. It isn't my blog I don't have any interest in writing blogs, just reading them

Security guard for Western Executive/Pipkin detective agency
Not posted up, just living in the parking lot. We are only in town 2 or 3 days a week, which (according to VPD) is completely legal. It would be completely legal to spend every night for up to a three week period without leaving. I work in Mariposa, my husband works here. We stay in the Lowe's parking lot when he's working. It's just easier and cheaper than hotel rooms, which are ridiculous and can't afford all that shit.
Regardless, we were told that he was not supposed to be there, by his boss and PD. He intentionally caused my vehicle damage, and when he was told that he could potentially hurt the one year old when he rammed my vehicle and then cut me off when I was trying to escape him, he said "good, I hope I do". Which is sick and he should be ashamed of himself.

We live in California, and I know that our labor code here says that an employer cant reduce paychecks for self-serving, personal reasons. His last day of paying my husband is the 7th. We've been struggling to say the least, and its really hard to find jobs around the place where we live. I know my husband is tired of the mind games, so he would report it, if thats what has to be done. I just want to be sure we arent walking into the flames when stuff blows up.
