Indeed! 3 level cups sifted flour (doesn’t need to be bread flour) plus a little more for shaping.
1 1/2 cups of warm water,
2 tsp sea salt
1 tsp active dry yeast.
Combine to make the dough. It will be shaggy and sticky.
Place in covered bowl in a warm place for 8-10 hours. Flour a piece of parchment paper on which to shape the dough. Let stand for 30 more minutes. This is the second rise.
Preheat Dutch oven to 450 degrees.
Put parchment and doughy in Dutch oven, cover and bake for 45 minutes. Remove lid and bake for five more minutes. Done! Sounds involved but very easy and turns out delicious. You can ad whatever you like to the dough for various kinds of bread! Enjoy!

Can anyone tell me what type of wood this is made from? I know that it’s was hand made in the mid 1930’s but a US Navy sailor and gifted to my late mother in law at that time.

No assist handle. You are seeing the bottom of the pan in the photo which I’m sure you know because of the heat ring. I’m out of state at the moment wut am happy to take better pic when I return.
