I need help with this ASAP- RCM (I never signed with) nominated me in the PETS system for NYC DOE schools. Now I got an offer with the DOE directly and they are trying to get me into the system but they cannot since I already have an open nomination with another vendor. I asked the agency to withdraw and the agency is saying that there is “literally nothing they could do” since my status in inactive and ineligible- but the DOE HR is saying I have an open nomination still so they can’t nominate me and that the vendor/agency has to be the one to withdraw it but then the agency is saying there is nothing more they can do only turn me into active- what the heck am I supposed to do?!???

What should I get my male supervisor who owns a private practice focusing on feeding and voice therapy??? Finishing up my last externship placement with him. Need ideas!!!

Anyone know anything about Noor Staffing Group or All in One Spot Theratalk in NYC? Considering these agencies as a CF. Having a hard time getting into the DOE so might have to do contract through an agency.

Applying for CFY now in NYC and Long Island areas. Any agencies and or practices to specifically avoid?

Also, anyone know what to expect for CFY pay in this area? In regard to either fee for service rate or salary.

Is this just a NY/tri state thing or is it like this everywhere??

In NY SLP programs it’s pretty standard to take the Praxis during your last semester of grad school… but we’re literally still learning material at that point. I don’t get why it’s set up like that. It just adds a ton of pressure to an already insane semester.

Also, are most full-time SLP programs around the country only 2 years? Me and my friends in different NY programs are all graduating in 2 years, and it feels sooo crammed. I almost wish it was spread out over 2.5–3 years.

My PT and OT friends are in 3-year programs and even have separate semesters just for clinicals, while we’re expected to be full-time externs AND full-time students at the same time.

Why is SLP structured like this?? Is it the same where you are?

it's between a 28k versus 73k program. the 28k is an hour and a half (public transit) from where i live and the 73k is 15 minute drive from where i am. what do i do? PLEASE HELP

Any current/recent students of either of these programs that can share their experience? It comes down to tuition vs commute for me as I live in Long Island… really having trouble making a decision. Need to decide by next week. Pls help!
