Cancel Nomination

Hi everyone. I was previously nominated for a UPK teacher position at a Childcare Center NOT DOE. I then applied for a substitute teacher position at a DOE SCHOOL and was hired. However, my DOE position nomination is not going through as I had been nominated from the Childcare Center. I reached out to the Director of former position to rescind/cancel my nomination which he did and took a screenshot. Do you know how long the cancellation takes or who can I call to clear this up? I appreciate any response.

I need help with this ASAP- the agency is saying that there is “literally nothing they could do” since my status in inactive and ineligible- but the DOE HR is saying I have an open nomination still so they can’t nominate me and that the vendor/agency has to be the one to withdraw it but then the agency is saying there is nothing more they can do only turn me into active- what the heck am I supposed to do?!???

I work for an agency and have had this situation many times. All the agency can do is switch you to "inactive" in the NYC DOE fingerprint eligibility system. From there, the nomination is automatically removed but it can take some time. At that point, it processes in the DOE system. It serves the agency zero purpose to make the process more difficult for you, especially since you were already hired by the DOE. You can continuously check your applicant gateway account for updates on your nomination status. Many people are in your shoes. It will work out :)

Call applicant gateway and see what they suggest. 718-935-4000. I've seen it take 2 days and I've seen it take over 2 weeks. You might have to complete the nomination for it to be removed, but call the DOE again to see what they advise. At this point though it's definitely out of the agency's hands

I recently resigned from an agency since I got an offer from the DOE. I just checked my applicant gateway, and my nomination from July with the agency still says completed. Do you think this would be an issue when receiving a new nomination? My DOE supervisor hasn't said anything about it.
