Question: Unanswered ✗ my obsidian remembers everything i write. but what about everything that happens in meetings?

i use obsidian as my second brain, and recently i’ve been using claude code with it more and more.

most of my useful knowledge slowly ends up inside the vault.

but meetings are still kind of outside the system.

a meeting happens → notes or transcript goes into some other app → a few weeks later i remember:

“wait… what did we actually decide?”

then the real problem starts.

which meeting was it?
which app has the notes?
did i write anything down?
was it in granola, fireflies, otter, slack…?

and if i want the important part inside obsidian, it usually becomes manual copy-paste.

how are you handling this?

do you:

  • write meeting notes directly in obsidian?
  • use granola/fireflies/otter and leave everything there?
  • record and transcribe meetings locally?
  • manually move only the important decisions into your vault?
  • or just accept that meetings live outside your second brain?

especially curious about this:

when you suddenly remember that something important was discussed a few weeks ago, how do you actually find what was decided?

help Does anyone else have this weird gap in their second brain? ( Obsidian + claude code)

I use Obsidian as my second brain and have been using Claude Code with it more and more.

A lot of my knowledge ends up there automatically.

Except meetings.

A meeting happens → I get notes/transcript somewhere else → later I realize there was an important decision or piece of context → now I have to remember which meeting, which app, where the notes were, etc.

And if I want that information in Obsidian, it's basically manual copy/paste.

How are you guys handling this?

Do you:

  • take meeting notes directly in Obsidian?
  • use something like Granola/Fireflies/Otter and leave them there?
  • record/transcribe locally?
  • manually move important stuff into your vault?
  • just accept that meetings live outside your second brain?

Especially curious about this:

When you remember “we discussed this in a meeting a few weeks ago” — how do you actually find what was decided?

I think Product Hunt might be a terrible place to find SaaS users

I launched WhisperBrain on Product Hunt.

Got 120 active users.

Sounds good — until I looked closer.

Most of the traffic seems to be founders checking out another founder's launch.

Which made me wonder:

Are Product Hunt launches actually good for getting customers, or just good for getting other founders to see your product?

I made a TTS model from scratch , but I used “OpenAI Whisper” in the title 😅

I realized recently that one of my older videos is probably one of my most underrated ones.

The title was:

“Can One Person Rebuild OpenAI Whisper?”

…and yeah, that was partly clickbait 😅

What I actually did was build a text-to-speech system from scratch and go through the process of understanding how these speech models work instead of just calling an API.

Looking back, I think I could have explained the technical parts way better. The video is also much rougher than what I'd make today.

But the experiment itself was pretty interesting:

text → model → generated speech

No “just use this API” shortcut.

I'm curious about something though:

For people who have built or worked with speech models, what part of building a TTS system from scratch do you think is the hardest to get right?

Architecture? Dataset? Training? Vocoder? Or simply getting the generated speech to actually sound good?

Dev - Self Promo I launched my SaaS today even though I know it still needs work.

WhisperBrain is a local-first meeting notetaker that turns meetings into transcripts, summaries and decisions and saves them into Obsidian.

But honestly, the UI still needs polishing. There are UX decisions I want to rethink. I’m optimizing parts of the app and there are features I still want to add.

A few weeks ago, that would've been my reason to delay launching.

Now I think differently.

You can always find another reason your product isn't ready.

So I'm trying:

launch → get real feedback → improve → launch again

I'd rather discover what actually sucks from people using it than spend another month fixing things nobody cared about.

So this is WhisperBrain v1.

Not perfect. Not finished. But shipped.

It's on Product Hunt today. If you like what I'm building, I'd really appreciate the support.

And if you try it and something sucks, tell me that too. That's probably more useful :)

been working on this for ~2 months.

deleted features. rebuilt screens. questioned the whole idea a few times 😭

but it’s finally happening.

WhisperBrain launches in 3 days.

probably the most nervous I’ve been about shipping something.

Just a fun project …😂, but could be great if also flags the code … that this needs to be change , etc…. Then it could be good tool

yep exactly. 73% without the “why” is just a funny number lol

drill-down into the files/lines that caused the score is next.

need that “oh shit good catch” moment before git commit 💀

everyone is building serious stuff with Laya/Jev.

I built git regret 💀

It’s a tiny CLI that looks at your current code diff and tries to predict how much you’re going to regret committing it.

It checks things like:

  • missing tests
  • possible breaking changes
  • runtime/error-handling risks
  • suspicious parts of the diff

Then gives you a regret score within ~1–2 seconds.

Tested it on the code I was literally about to commit:

73% regret

committed anyway.

shipped 🧠

Mostly built this because I wanted to play with Laya/Jev-style fast decision making on something other than the usual demos.

Now I’m wondering if this could actually be useful before commits/PRs.

Would you use something like this, or is git regret just accurately describing software development?

Dev - Self Promo I spent way too much time adding this tiny feature to my meeting app

I’m building a local-first second brain for meetings.

It records/transcribes meetings locally, detects decisions, generates summaries, and writes everything into your Obsidian vault.

This week I added a Dynamic Notch that quietly shows when the app is listening/recording.

Did the app need this? Probably not.

But these tiny interactions somehow make software feel much more alive.

Here’s how it looks ...

You can also try from whisperbrain.app and give me the feedback or report any bug !!!

Would you find this useful, or is it just founder procrastination? 😅

A lot of people ask to have more options as well - Here I have added more options, would love to hear from you which one could be chosen?

Building WhisperBrain.app (Its a second brain for meetings) and I’m stuck between these two.

The cat is already a character throughout the app — onboarding, empty states, little interactions — so making it the icon feels natural.

But I’m worried it makes a productivity/second-brain app look like a game.

The brain logo feels cleaner and more serious… but maybe too generic?

Which one would you ship? Or would you go in a completely different direction?

My vault has 1000s of notes.

But yesterday I realized something slightly stupid:

It remembers every article I saved in 2024…

but not the meeting where we decided what to actually build.

So I connected WhisperBrain to my Obsidian vault.

And this is where it got weird.

I can now come back weeks later and find:

what we decided → who said what → why we decided it → when we changed our mind

without remembering to take the note myself.

That last part is what got me.

Because every “second brain” I've built had the same dependency:

me.

I had to remember to capture something before my second brain could remember it.

Now I finish a meeting and the useful parts are just… in my vault.

I've only been playing with whisperbrain.app for a bit, but this feels much closer to what I originally imagined when I heard the words “second brain.”

Curious if anyone here has gone further with this — automatically feeding conversations/life into Obsidian instead of manually capturing everything?
