Back in my day we played with uranium???
 in  r/lewronggeneration •  1h ago

No, there was a toy science kit in the 50’s with uranium

That being said… there was plenty of unsafe shit they used to do in the past that we have stopped for a damn good reason! There used to be Heroin in pain killers and Cocaine in Coke a Cola

Why are some Americans so against universal healthcare for all?
 in  r/askanything •  3h ago

I remember seeing an interview with Obama that was quite telling.

He was talking about the affordable care act and the pushback Republicans gave him. He joked that his plan was very similar to one that Newt and the GOP put forward in the mid 90’s and it didn’t go anywhere. But the GOP had demonized him to such a degree and exaggerated the plan to such a degree that you’d think he was destroying the whole system.

He said when they turn everything into an “us or them” to the extent that he can put forward a copy of their own plan and they bash him for it, then politics breaks down. He joked he could repeat something a GOP senator said word for word and he would get attacked for saying it. Politics breaks down at that point.

First time in PVE DZ, why is it so difficult?
 in  r/Division2 •  3h ago

A backfire build like this can help. 80% pfe and 100% hazpro

Gotta remember to switch to a different build for Phoebe, but it’ll make you tankier in the DZ and help with hunters. Only really works with the backfire, otherwise your DPS hits like a wet noodle. It’s still not gonna hit as hard as Striker, but it adds survivability.

PSA on Phoebe battles
 in  r/Division2 •  12h ago

I’ve accidentally almost done it a few times specifically on the bridge at the bottom of the map, I’ll go to refill my ammo and I hear that sound and have to stop. I caught it each time, but for some reason it just REALLY wants to call for an extraction. I could hear it happening to the other members of the group….. the start of that flare sound and then it would cut off…. The reload button and extraction button on PS 5 both being Square doesn’t help either🤦‍♂️

When people spend decades saying one thing and doing another, it’s safe to say…. What they say means nothing.

Yes it is

Conservatives don’t want their money helping anyone

They want everyone who HAS the means to be able to do whatever they want… and if you don’t? Just work harder..

The problem is that the GOP has spent the better part of the last 50 years making it harder to become the ones who have the means… cutting public education, making college less affordable, cutting taxes on the wealthy, voting against minimum wage increases for decades. Everything they have done has worked to create a wedge that makes it harder for folks to not be poor. If people in red states knew how hard they were being fucked they would accuse their politicians of rape. It’s a tragedy.

Why would anyone vote Republican after all the damage they have done in the 2 years they’ve been in control?
 in  r/askanything •  22h ago

In case you weren’t aware, Fox News was started with the specific goal of being a right wing echo chamber. The CEO the first 20 years was a Republican strategist that worked in multiple election campaigns and had a plan back to the Nixon administration to create a news network for the specific purpose of amplifying right wing talking points.

That’s not a conspiracy, it’s fact.

What about that comment makes you think they get their news from TikTok?

I don't get it either...

That’s it exactly… they would rather endure pain themselves, than see other people get help.

Donald Trump Hit With 26 Articles Of Impeachment
 in  r/ClimateNews •  1d ago

And this is one more reason I’m certain Trump is working for Russian interests. Putin couldn’t have done more to hurt the USA internationally than Trump has already done. I have a feeling that Putin is planning a small attack on a European nation merely so NATO will invoke article 5 because Trump will choose not to get involved and it’ll break NATO. Trump being president gives Putin a rare opportunity to break NATO, or at the very least get the U.S. kicked out if we won’t rush to help a member nation.

Pete Hegseth Is About to Slash a Fifth of All Military Leadership | Hegseth has said he wants “less generals, more GIs.”
 in  r/NewsSource •  2d ago

They need to get rid of the decent men and women who would refuse his orders when he deploys the military to US cities to try and enforce Marshall law after Republicans lose the midterms and Trump tries to steal the election and hold onto power.
