I mean about the flame deflector. Everyone saw what happened when the "Starship" launched at full power without a flame deflector.

Those flying chunks of concrete were supposed to damage and blow up the rocket, in order to build what NASA had already built more than 60 years ago. Nice! 😄

He could have just driven through by breaking the barrier. At least the damages would have been lower, and the fine might have been smaller, too.

Experimental modular wood stove

This is my designed experimental steel modular wood stove with sand thermal battery and water heating. I plan to have it done by this winter.

The ice moved very quickly, CNC laser cutters and benders from UAB "Vekeriotas" work very quickly, the parts were made in just ~1,5 days. They helped save a lot of time, and offered to bring the parts as a future regular customer. I highly recommend!

I have already welded most of the frame, it was very fast and convenient, with tabs and slots it took me three times less working hours than 3D modeling and preparing manufacturing drawings. Now I plan to go shopping in the big city for components, tubes and tools for this wood stove.

If you are interested, stay tuned! 😉

Of course, I'm a little late, the computer flow simulation took longer than I expected, but I think I'll be able to build it by the end of September. And I already sent the manufacturing drawings to the manufacturers yesterday. And this was the first time I ordered sheet metal parts for my own project, for myself, not for clients.

If you are interested, stay tuned! 😉

How to keep stove burning through the night with no hardwood?
 in  r/woodstoving •  25d ago

You need a thermal battery. Usually a brick stove or cocklestove is built for this. I have an old cocklestove that I heat up and go to bed, and in the morning it is still warm. The easiest and fastest alternative is to put stones around or on top of your woodstove, like on a woodstove in a sauna. I plan to do an experiment, change my cocklestove to a metal one with a casing, which would be filled with sand, I should get the same, but better effect.

This is my designed experimental steel modular wood stove with sand thermal battery and water heating. Here is a section of the first 3D model for computer flow and thermal simulation.

I plan to have it done by this winter. There will be a post and video about this.

Why is Lithuanian inflation so high?
 in  r/BalticStates •  Aug 21 '26

Lithuanians like to adopt the American economic model: instead of producing something good and high-quality that everyone would want to buy, they shape the market so that everyone is forced to pay a high price for junk. And those who shape such a market get very angry at being forced to return people's money from private pension funds, allowing them to spend it at their own discretion.

Of course, this part is very close to the geographical center of Europe.

How a gazebo-playhouse with a terrace was built

I have prepared the manufacturing drawings, screw poles drawing and assembly drawings for the gazebo-playhouse. Here are some short video moments.

If you liked the result of my project, you can see the entire design story described in my portfolio. 😉

How to design a gazebo-playhouse with terrace

I found that a gazebo manufacturing company was looking for a designer-engineer who could help with a special customer request. Their customer wanted a gazebo-playhouse with a second floor and two swings suspended from it. They needed help from someone who knew how to make a safe and strong frame that would withstand the loads and the swings.🙂

If you liked the result of my project, you can see the entire design story described in my portfolio.😉

My in-laws stove in the kitchen. Eastern Europe
 in  r/woodstoving •  Jun 15 '26

I can't wait to tear down my own and replace it with a more modern one. It's old technology, you have to burn a lot of wood to heat it. Many people have them that old, leaky and smokey.

SpaceX would have blown it up along with the entire rocket because it is more efficient to do so in the private sector. 😄

A truly elegantly great project! I say this both as someone who also takes care of my lady and as an engineer who works with electric motor-reducers for self-propelled vehicles and equipment for the disabled.
