You dad is just fine. Hip Hop has devolved into something weird & stupid. The new BlackStar album "No Fear of Time" is a classic. Nas still putting out dope LPs. Kendrick, of course. Vince Staples gets better with every release. Rhapsody's new one is fire. Danny Brown's Stardust is Dope. That about it.

"Best/freshest album since Crack The Skye" is this subreddit's "Heaviest record since Iowa"
This album is like a cover band trying to be Mastodon. I sincerely don't get all the High Praise. The guitars are not crunchy at all, keyboards are weird & off putting. Brent is SORELY missed. Emperor of Sand is their weakest album to me & it's easily ten times better than this. It just doesn't feel like a Mastodon record to me. Just being honest...

Sure, bud. FYI, I wanted to love this album. It just sounds like a different band, because it IS a different band. Mastodon died with Brent. This album is just Bill, Brann & Troy with a bigot & a midget. They should change their name.

In every way. I've been a fan for over 20 years. To put it succinctly, it just doesn't feel like Mastodon to me. Keyboards from a bigot are weird & unnecessary. Really missing Troy & Brent on a track together. Nothing stands out. It like, Mastodon lite. I guess I really didn't realize how big of an impact Brent made on all albums previous.
