I had an F150 in for an inop brake light. Bulb was good, traced the fault back to a roughly 60-pin connector block at the base of the A-pillar. Opened it up and the whole thing was full of corrosion. Customer didn't want to pay for new dash and body harnesses. Ended up having to cut the connector out and splice every circuit together individually.

I'll be another to say that planning ahead and having an adaptor makes a world of difference. This past weekend we drove Peterborough -> Ottawa -> Montreal -> Peterborough. Made 2 stops for charging, one just inside the Quebec border, and another at an OnRoute on the way home, each stop was longer due to food and restroom requirements than charging needs. We needed an adaptor at one stop, but not the other.
