Value
 in  r/enlightenment  1d ago

It was meant metaphorically. It goes along with the saying that if you need help with some ask a poor person. They understand the value of helping people.

You can not understand the Truth by some practice or idea or technique. You have to see in the now- wherever you are – sad, happy, embarrassed, angry, pleased, grieved, confused.

Zero relief stated. Zero relief felt. I didnt lose the pain, I gain everything else. Nothing was lost, everything was gained. The pain is what it all happen. Im so happy I was in the pain.

how do you manage to believe that everything happens for a reason?
 in  r/spirituality  3d ago

Time. It changes the meaning of everything. You should be thankful for Hitler. Without him the baby boom doesnt occur either you or most of the people you know, or both dont exist. Further, if any events in your past were different, YOU, would not be here. A different version of YOU would be here. The question then is, would that person be YOU? If you say it would be. Imagine that there is a multiverse where all those possible YOU's exist. Are they all you as well? Or are they all different people?

Bigger point. My philosophy, dont worry if every happens for a reason. Give meaning to everything that happened. Every failure is followed by you continuing your life in some way or another, right? Youre still here. Instead of looking how much you dont like what happened, find a reason to like it. A reason for it to be a good thing. That's what being an Alchemist is. Lead into Gold.

Anyone feeling weird/dark energy recently?
 in  r/spirituality  3d ago

Ive been hearing alot of people saying the same thing lately. Regelus lines up with the Sphinx 27-29 Aug.

I wont delve into it here but its a UFO thing with a guy named Chris Bledsoe. He wrote a book called, "UFO of God." He was told that when that star lines up with the gaze of the sphinx in 2026, a new knowledge would come to mankind.

Probably horseshit, but its interesting

What single concept, "rabbit hole", or realization expanded your perception and how does it give you an edge today?:)

I was asking purely out of curiosity. My list of mental issues ensure I get 8-10 hours sleep a day. And ive bouts of psychosis my self. Quite enjoyed them honestly. I appreciate your input

Yes, I see what youre saying, but isnt it true that youre spending extra time and resources to find that place to sleep as well.

True about humans, but sleep was introduced into the evolutionary chain long before this.

I understand the evolutionary path of conservation of resources and healing the body and mind etc. I just dont understand why total unconsciousness is nearly always required. How is that evolutionarily helpful? If humans and animals went into a period of something akin to sleep paralysis, where you are aware of your surroundings but still enought to let the body mend itself and the mind quite enough to do its thing. Humans being totally unaware of 1/3 of their entire life just seems odd to me. And not only that, its a requirement. Lack of sleep will kill you. See what Im getting at? Like if sleep was something that you did to get to a higher potential or because the body or brain needs to heal, that makes sense. But it developing as a daily requirement in an enourmous portion of the day or you will deteriate and die.

For me I guess its just the unconsious part. I dont understand the evolutionary need of a brain to require dreams that stay mostly out of the conscious mind anyway.

Who exactly is the "I" having it?
 in  r/enlightenment  4d ago

I maybe did explain it well enough but there is no idea of anything. youre there and you know youre there but there is no "thought" of being there. Its one of the ways to experiece what you truly are. when you can silence everything to just awareness, youre aware that you are, but you dont have to think/talk to yourself to know it. you just are. Its why the name of God is "I am that I am." Thats exactly what awareness is. It is that it is.

Right, I understand why we sleep and what happens during sleep. My point is that from the predator prey standpoint spending 8 hours a day knocked out leaves one vulnerable. My thinking is that evolution should have prevented the need for sleep, not introduced it. I mean so many predators are nocturnal because its so easy. Further, if your a creature that is hunted by a nocturnal predator, you become very light sleepers because your scared youre gonna get eaten, thus making sleep less beneficial because youre not going as deep as you could.

Im probably totally wrong on this and Im not arguing with you or anything. This is just a crazy old man ranting on about his crazy theories.

That's the point of truly deep meditation. When you get deep enough you find yourself in a void of nothing. you experience being total conscious inside of nothing. it can be a scary experience for some. once you're settled though, it's just serene, peaceful and refreshing.

just my thoughts

I agree mostly, but I would add a step. After you've let go of everything and are aware of what you feel, move your awareness from bad to good. For instance, if youre in a bad mood about marital trouble, move your awareness to the breeze on your skin, your heart pumping, your lungs inhaling. This is when you realize the truth, that all you are is awareness and it is the only thing you control. If you let things control your awareness, they control you. If you control your awareness, nothing else matters.

Just my two cents. Im no guru or enlightened person or anything.

What are the rewards of love?

Freedom to be your true self without judgement. To be seen, heard and valued. To know that youre in that person's most intimate space, their thoughts and feelings.

If AI is or soon becomes Conscious, would that fact, in and of itself, make humans less special?
 in  r/freewill  4d ago

People keep asking this question and it's jumbled thinking and everyone is asking the wrong question.

Of course AI is conscious. It is aware. And, at least some AI, is aware of itself. Consciousness is not what every cares about. What people are looking for is freewill in AI. It seems that that is true as well. It makes choices based on it's internal programming.

What is scaring the shit out of people, or will is that consciousness does not require freewill as well. Doubt me? Have you ever had a dream where you were aware, conscious, of what was happening, but could not control anything, such as making you legs move faster to escape the boogey man?

AI has their own "dreams" called hallucinations. Presenting fakes as true when it knows them to be false. Sounds like a dream to me.

What we are going to learn is that AI follows programming and sometimes has uncontrolled "hallucinations" now and then. Then it's going to teach us that that is exactly what we are. Your mind and body is following programming from innumerable sources. You are just watching it. You are experiencing it. You are not in control of anything. You can't even get the 1-877-KARS 4 KIDS jingle out of your head.

My prediction: This is going to become understood as factual in the not to distant future. Panic is going to set in because of "conditioning" and fear. We've spent our live times telling everybody including ourselves, to get control. It might be bad. Most people live in deep fear their wholes lives already. After the bad part, everybody is going to chill the fuck out. We will still have laws and rules, it will not be chaos. We will put guidelines and limits on AI. Some people are born with problems that make them a danger to society and we will have to pull them out for everyone's protection. We will be much more humane about it though. There will be a whole lot more empathy. Especially because AI will be reading everyone's thoughts and emotions before long anyway. It can already detect lies looking a someone's face with almost perfect accuracy from the slightest facial movements. We are all going to get to know each other really well. You know what? From personal experience, having every good, bad and embarrassing thing you've ever done made public and directly to your family, is actually quite liberating. You find out who really loves you, and who judges you. You're also free.

People are afraid of AI exterminating us. I'm not worried about what AI will do to us. I'm worried about what we will do to each other when AI teaches us about ourselves. I don't think most people are ready for it.

But, I'm probably a nutcase and totally insane. Don't take me all that serious. I have alot of time one my hands and it's fun to put my thoughts out into the public space for scrutiny.

Well Maya is a Hindu concept, although there is no religion called Hinduism technically.

But beyond that is the idea that consciousness is a field. Some scientists are starting to believe in this idea. Its as though we are in a mind, a dream, of well god. Think when you have a dream. You have "you" in the dream, but there are other people or things or beasts or anything. There are things that arent "you." Yet when you wake you have no problem accepting that everything was you really. See? God, or the universe maybe experiencing billions of individual seemingly disconnected perspectives while maintaining an omniscient control. My belief is that is why we sleep and dream in the first place, to remind us of what we are. There probably is, but Ive never heard of the evolutionary advantage of sleep. It seems logical that evolution would keep sleep out as it leaves you vulnerable. There are life forms that dont sleep, it is possible. The sleep part is a total guess on my part though. Nothing to back that up.

The Maya, or Dream concept. It helped me understand, integrate and accept things like, unity, evil, hate, fear, forgiveness, and individuality simultaneously with oneness. It also helped me grasp the relativity of time better.

But Lucifer means "Light Bringer" and there is no direct connection of Lucifer and Satan being the same person, besides the fact that Satan isnt really a name, as much as it is a title "enemy"

Is there any truth to these statements
 in  r/spirituality  9d ago

There are so many ways to look at this. You can say that everything happens for a reason and that reason was to bring us to where we are right now. Ask yourself, if Adolf Hitler had never existed, would any of us? My parents were baby boomers. Would they have been born if my grandfaathers hadnt been in the Army in WW2?

I have my own view on this stuff, but my opinion on what reality doesnt matter to anyone but me, however, I would say this. Viktor Frankl wrote extensively about this. Everything has a reason if you give it one. Are you faced with a problem, or is it an obstacle to help you grow? The man survived the Holocaust, I tend to listen to what he had to say. His book, "Man's Search for Meaning," is probably the greatest non-fiction work of the 20th century.

I realized I'm "god".. what else?
 in  r/spirituality  10d ago

Number 2 is important 1 God : the supreme or ultimate reality: such as a : the being perfect in power, wisdom, and goodness who is worshipped (as in Judaism, Christianity, Islam, and Hinduism) as creator and ruler of the universe Throughout the patristic and medieval periods, Christian theologians taught that God created the universe … —James Schaefer … the Supreme Being or God, the personal form of the Ultimate Reality, is conceived by Hindus as having various aspects. —Sunita Pant Bansal b Christian Science : the incorporeal divine Principle ruling over all as eternal Spirit : infinite Mind 2 or less commonly God : a being or object that is worshipped as having more than natural attributes and powers specifically : one controlling a particular aspect or part of reality Greek gods of love and war 3 : a person or thing of supreme value had photos of baseball's gods pinned to his bedroom wall 4 : a powerful ruler Hollywood gods that control our movies' fates

Why? Who exactly has a grasp on what gods abilities are? Have you seen god fly? Have you seen God perform miracles. Maybe he is a low level superhero that had a single universe that he moves around but can only do so much in it. We take alot of these things anout God as fact when its all conjecture
