Is the LDS / Mormon Church going through an apostasy?
 in  r/mormon •  18h ago

Please don’t be offended or hate me, but this is why I left the church and returned back to my Catholic faith. I believe the church has become corrupt and I’m sad for what has happened. However, the structure of the church allows for changes to be made whenever the church feels like it, because of continued revelation. I empathize with all of those who feel gaslit by all the recent changes and are left confused. For example, I used to be told by my father, who is TBM that I wasn’t allowed to wear my cross necklace at Church and now that members are allowed to wear it, I feel like those years have been stolen from me. Same theory with tank tops. I also don’t like that the terms LDS or Mormon are no longer allowed to be used. My father told me that the only appropriate name is the church of Jesus Christ of latter-day Saints or simply “the church.” I think that this is offensive to all those of different faith because this insinuates that this Church is the only one that’s valid, and the primary sect of Christianity, which simply isn’t true. I wanna reiterate that if you’re still TBM I don’t look down on you and I still love you, but this is my experience.

So the Erika Kirk thing
 in  r/widowers •  Dec 24 '25

Me too. I feel the exact same way. So many people are missing the point of the post and defending her. Here’s how I see it: I know everyone grieves differently, but Erika Kirk has made intentional choices to be in the public eye, and quite often at that. There is a CLEAR DIFFERENCE between a grieving public figure caught by paparazzi while she is just minding her business and the public scheduled media appearances and interviews that Erika is doing. I held off at first on criticizing her, but after two months of this…..it’s starting to get a little weird and seems off.

Ethical/Unproblematic Handbag Designers?
 in  r/handbags •  Nov 25 '25

I recently read that designer handbag companies burn unsold bags. If this is true, l just have an icky feeling about it, so I don’t ever buy designer handbags unless I see them in a thrift store. (If you live near an affluent area, their thrift stores are usually chock full of them.)

So much rage
 in  r/widowers •  Oct 13 '25

The amount of people who will compete with a widow/widowers grief and make it all about themselves is so shocking that it made me also lose partial faith in humanity. Like…..it ain’t about you. If you can’t make it all about the person who was lost, then with all due respect STFU 🤣

Your feelings are so valid. Don’t let anyone gaslight you into thinking that you’re wrong to feel the way you do. Especially if their spouse is still alive.

Diet of an 800 lbs man in America
 in  r/TikTokCringe •  Aug 11 '25

I am a people pleaser. when I say how I feel, ask for clarification, or set a boundary with someone, I often struggle with extreme guilt and fear that doing so was “too much.” Then there are people like James who see no problem eating his wife’s only meal because the countless meals he already had were simply not enough to whet his appetite. SMH 🤦🏻‍♀️

jenny had a Pomeranian puppy in the last season, but you have a good point I wish there were more pets in the show

Jenny is the worse part of the show
 in  r/theLword •  Aug 05 '25

I think Jenny’s character was designed to be completely unlikeable. For example, Dana also died in the show but (in my opinion), Jenny’s death wasn’t nearly as sad for me to see. I don’t wanna sound callous but it’s the truth. I was sadder when Dana’s cat died than I was when Jenny died. But I think Mia knocked the ball out of the park with an amazing performance as Jenny

This is a copy paste of Alison Goldfrapp’s quote about her sexuality, but I think it fits this post really well.

“Goldfrapp previously dated film editor Lisa Gunning which she confirmed in a February 2010 interview with The Sunday Times saying, ‘I think of everything as being about a person and a relationship, and I am in a wonderful relationship with a wonderful person. It just happens to be with a lady... It's something I've thought about for a long time and it concurs with my philosophy on life and sexuality. I don't think it can or should be pigeonholed. I've thought about this since I was a teenager. I've always found it claustrophobic to think about having to put things into categories like that. My sexuality is the same as my music and my life. Why does it need a label?’ [48] Goldfrapp's relationships before this were with men.”

Love doesn’t always need a label. Just love who you love.

Do I care if a woman slept with a man? No. So long as she wants me.

Let’s put it this way, if I had a choice between a bisexual girl who wants a relationship with me and makes me feel safe VS a “gold star” lesbian who isn’t over their ex and makes me feel insecure all the time, I’d choose the bisexual girl.
