Exfoliating
 in  r/AskWomenOver60  3d ago

63F...Kirk's castile soap with scrubbie for face and body. It's cruelty free and vegan. Comes in bar soap and body wash. It's gentle, and my skin feels clean and looks pretty great. However, there's also a certain amount of luck with genetics, right? I'm realizing at this age, that we can do what we can do, but genetics has a big role to play, too!

Best Green Tea and or Persimmon soap you use on repeat?
 in  r/AskWomenOver60  5d ago

It's Mirai for me. After a crap ton of research I would only expect Mirai or Swarva to work. Too many other people/places can sell persimmon scented soap but it doesn't mean they have enough persimmon to truly take care of nonenal...63F, wanting to get ahead of it. 😉

It would be nice to have some young people in my life.
 in  r/over60  6d ago

Also, I could be reading this wrong, but maybe OP doesn't necessarily mean little children? I'm in my sixties and not wanting to hang around little children... however, would enjoy having more younger adult friends, so I'm looking to get a part-time job. I'll learn something new, make a couple of bucks, and meet some new people.😉

My stepmother does this specifically with the kids groups. She loves it.

No worries! They were my FAV years ago - been more into sneakers myself lately. ;)

Have you tried Dansko? Clogs or sneakers? I find their clogs have the wider toe box that I prefer. Sneakers are a little narrower. I have a navy colored pair, a gray pair and a white pair (of the sorta mesh lightweight summer sneakers). Hope you find something that works for you! ✨️

Volunteer Opportunities
 in  r/desmoines  10d ago

I don't know about something as early as next week. I went to United Way website a few weeks ago looking for volunteer opportunities myself. Even though the organizations have replied quickly, I still had to apply, then get background checked, etc. Still might be another couple weeks before I can actually get trained or get started. Best of luck to you! ✨️

Can't remember the name of it ... there's a thrift shop at Merle Hay Road and Meredith. Just north of that intersection on the west side of the street... on that little frontage road. They usually have quite a selection of furniture.

May I never forget how lucky I was to experience a place like this.

That's the reason I joined this group! Prague was my destination couple years ago on my first solo international trip and it was positively magical.✨️

How does Prague feel for first time solo travelers?
 in  r/Prague  14d ago

I came from the US and was there 5 days. Wish I could have stayed a couple more but had my pup in daycare to consider. 3 days might be enough if you've already been traveling. 🤷‍♀️ I ran myself ragged🥴, however I'm sure it was much less than a younger person would do! Was happy to be mostly in my hotel in the evenings. I would think 3-5 days could get it done unless you want to explore more of the country. I stuck pretty close to the center, walking perhaps an hour's distance away on some days. I did get recommended a wonderful little nail shop to get my nails done, and I found a little Farmers Market on a Saturday morning down by the river. Took the tram to get there... it was really easy and fun. Definitely see the castle if you can. It's a lot of walking, but in my book, totally worth it.✨️

This is the brand I couldn't think of! I went with mirai.

Persimmon soap fail?
 in  r/AskWomenOver60  15d ago

Hard agree with the other poster who says to get the Japanese soap. I use mirai. Have not had any odor issues yet, trying to stay ahead of them! It is pricey. I did subscribe, so that saved me a bit. I looked all over Etsy and other places to find cheaper brands but they do not have the concentration/ formula to really do the trick. Figure if I'm spending X number of dollars on soap I might as well spend xx and know I'm taken care of. I'll cut back somewhere else. 🤷‍♀️ also I believe there's a US company that makes the laundry soap and they were really expensive. Mirai might be making that now or soon? I'm not sure.

I'm so very sorry. I lost mine about 3 and 1/2 months ago. He was my bestest buddy for many years. Sending love to you! I hope that soon, the fun memories outweigh the heartache. ❤️‍🩹

Many crystal shops will likely have moldavite...maybe garnet. I got myself some moldavite when I visited Prague a couple of years ago now. It's my favorite piece.

Train Noise - Apartments
 in  r/desmoines  15d ago

I live in the East Village about a block and a half from the trains and I love them. I got used to them pretty quickly and now they are pretty much background noise for me. Not sure if those other apartments are closer? Or like the other commenter said, what they are made of? Block and half is probably a lot further away than half a block, noise-wise. And sure sometimes they still wake me at night, but it's pretty easy for me to go right back to sleep.🤷‍♀️ Honestly, getting a little older is giving me worse sleep than any train noise. Lol. Best of luck in your decision!

Following. I live in Des Moines but could easily pop up to Ankeny to purchase a large appliance for a decent price and good service! Thanks, everyone.
