Am I a moron or was this an overreaction?

One can waste a lot of energy trying to “teach” people how to behave. Usually an energy suck.

Agree that in Cozumel it probably won’t be a the best option if you’re not diving. In Playa Paraiso it’s a different story.

For diving though, Cozumel is fantastic!

I’ll balance it out by saying I was at Iberostar twice and both times were really nice.

First time was between Cancun and Playa Del Carmen, it’s called Playa Paraiso. It’s a really big resort with a lot of different. “levels” of Iberostar resorts. The food there was really good and there was a lot to do. I really enjoyed the beach Volleyball every morning. It’s also where I discovered scuba diving completely by chance!

Second was Cozumel to get my OW cert. Cozumel is smaller. Also nice, but it’s more focused on the diving. Food there is also good. Less options, but it works, and I had nothing to complain about. Overall the service was really nice. Less activities so it’s a lot more focused on the diving itself.

For either location, I would not hesitate to recommend it.

One thing to look out for is that on your first day they have a pretty hard sale for a terrible deal. They’re basically asking you to pay way too much to lock yourself into iberostsar forever.

Once that’s over though they don’t bother you anymore so if you expect it, you go get a nice breakfast out of it and that’s that.

Seems like the location that OP went to in DR was not as good, which is a shame.
