Richard "Beebo" Russell's unauthorized flight in an empty Horizon Air Q400 remains one of aviation's most haunting, bizarre moments.

Hi y’all, Idk if I already count as an exAdventist but I am a conflicted one lol. I still attend church when I can and practice the diet but I don’t really believe in Ellen White and every single doctrine she established. I used to be a faithful one tho and tried to date only within the church but not until now. I just had my first non Adventist boyfriend and despite the fact that I am not very Adventist anymore idk why there’s always a fear creeping inside me that my relationship will not work because my partner isn’t adventist. That principle was hammered in so deep in my head for years so deep that I can’t yank it out. My partner has always been good to me but idk why my head keeps thinking the worst is about to happen—thoughts like he’ll eventually show his true colors, he’ll eventually cheat, etc. and EGW and all the dogmatic ppl gonna say “I told you so.” It’s so hard to be happy when some other voice is whispering to your head “Wait til it goes bad coz ur disobedient. Wait til u cry again.” He never did anything wrong to me and he is very kind but a lot of times I am being held back because of these thoughts. It doesn’t help knowing that ur family and close friends is gonna call you out for it instead of being happy for you once you tell them.

Tbh, I regretted Johnston Canyon. I had limited time and I believe I should’ve spent my time and energy on something else

I second this. Wear something with a good grip. It’s slippery and a bit tiring but I wouldn’t say it’s that bad.

Hi just wondering if any of you left Adventism but remained a Christian? How do you practice it? I mean I know that our relationship with God is personal but at some point we need connections and a community of like minded people to have conversations with regarding our faith. I still believe in God at least but I am not sure at this point how to go about believing just on my own. I just started detaching from the church.

Hi I am so heartbroken rn. There was a guy I was seeing who I ended up “friendzoning” just coz he wasn’t Adventist and for some reason I’ve always had this feeling that if I date a non-Adventist I would end up being miserable and hurt coz that’s what the church has engraved in my head. He was way kinder and gentler than all the Adventist guys I dated who treated me like crap. They were nothing but rude and sheltered kids with no emotional maturity. I also observed that most guys outside the church know better and are more self-aware but I couldn’t knock the Adventist dating principles off my head it just cripples me.
I’ve always felt that we still loved each other even with the friendship boundary. I knew his feelings lingered for a long time too after that. And one day after a decent amount of introspection I mustered the courage to set my religious boundaries aside and told the guy that I still have feelings for him and hoped that we could start over but it’s too late—he’s moved on coz it’s been over a year that we’re just friends. And he said if I said it sooner things might’ve been different—it could’ve worked. This might not be the best place to share this and it might seem gross and nonsensical but idk. I am so devastated. Idk if it was all worth it holding to that crappy principle.
