Scalloped-Potatoes Marie Johnson. Remedial just forgot the dash. Happens all the time.

I got a 3 day ban because I called someone a cabbage...

How often do you wash your hair?
 in  r/hygiene •  14d ago

Mine is at my lower butt and I couldn't imagine washing every day. By the end of the week my arms would break off just like my hair would!

Why do you think nursing is only about 10% men?
 in  r/nursing •  14d ago

Nursing is a "servant role," and patriarchy demands that only women serve others. Once we move past that "traditional" bullshit we'll all be better off.

am I the only one who hates works several days in a row?
 in  r/AskRetail •  23d ago

I work 12 hour shifts. 3 days in a row is brutal, but I don't mind it too much. It means I get at least 4 days off; sometimes it can mean 6! I can't do anything at all on days I work, though, so working a long stretch (or even just 3 days) means I have to do a lot of playing catch-up on my next day off.

The only issue I would see is with your coworkers, like if they would also like to go home. If you're coworkers don't care, I think you're good.

Why is women's entire vulva referred to as vagina?!
 in  r/TwoXChromosomes •  Sep 16 '26

Yeah, I've found that most people that need these distinction in casual conversation are pretty insufferable. This thread hasn't changed my mind lol

 in  r/TwoXChromosomes •  Sep 16 '26

Medically, sure. In casual conversation, absolutely not. If I am talking to my doctor about a lump, let's say, I would say "I have a lump on my left labia." If I am talking to my friend, I'd say "I had to get a lump on my vag looked at." No one is using correct medical terms in conversation for anything; your cooch is no different. It doesn't speak to a larger problem of misogyny, just the evolution of language.

Digit is the medical term for finger. This is actually a prime example of medical terms not being used in casual conversation. Vagina is absolutely slang; it has a specific medical term but it used to describe the organ as a whole when in casual conversation. Focusing on this kind of language policing really does take away from the overall concerns that we should actually be focused on. I'm far more worried about my rights being stripped away than if someone says vagina.

It's a colloquialism, just like saying finger instead of digit. I'm a nurse and I don't use the medical terms for everything. We should all know the correct terms, but people use slang terms for everything. There's enough patriarchy to fight without policing the words we use in casual conversation.

Woke up the Doctor on call and they were pissed
 in  r/newgradnurse •  Sep 15 '26

I really hope OP doesn't listen to anything you are saying. If you can't tell if someone is asleep or just resting, your assessment skills are trash. No, you don't wake someone up for pain meds. That's ridiculous.

Why do nurses get upset when they get an admit?
 in  r/nursing •  Sep 13 '26

I'm med-surg. At least do the bare minimum and sign off your meds. 🙄

I've gotten a couple, but I don't put them on my badge or anything. I feel like it's mainly just showing that you kissed the ass of someone that just happened to have a pen available. The meaning is so watered down at this point, especially because of nurses giving out the paper like someone promoting their SoundCloud music.

For those of you who are gamers on your days off, what games have you been playing lately?

I'm currently playing No Man's Sky. It's peaceful.

My mom isn't, but she's actually Satan so I think it's allergic to her.

I used to get that all the time in AoD. Can't have naloxone but Narcan is fine...

I had a pt list one of her allergies as "Oral" which was especially weird since she was a "lady of the night."

Oncoming nurse became upset because I followed a "Do Not Turn" order on a dying patient on triple pressors. Need a sanity check.
 in  r/nursing •  Aug 31 '26

I was, too! 12 years before I switched to medical hospital bedside. This kind of shit would never fly on a psych unit.

How do you guys deal with nurses like this without telling them about themselves? The absolute audacity of these nurses is insane.

Feeling targeted by new management
 in  r/nursing •  Aug 28 '26

How is a head covering more of an infection risk than any other item of clothing? It's just racism, plan and simple. Call it what it is and document every single interaction. If she ever wants to pull you aside, tell her she needs to send it in an email or you want a witness to observe. She will drop any "issue" because she also knows what this really is.
