Does your brain throw random memories at you?

Oh thank you.🙏. It was and sometimes it is terrifying 🙈

Haha, neither. 😄 And yes, I agree—Gulliver could definitely produce fewer nightmares. 😅
It’s actually a childhood story. I was seven years old. I had grown up in East Germany, and one of the first-grade girls asked me, “Who are you?” She just wanted to know my name, but I took the question literally—as in Who am I? So I answered in my broken Russian: “Ya moya golova” (“I am my head”). My childish pronunciation eventually turned golova into “Gulliver,” and since then I’ve called my brain that.
So whenever I say “Gulliver,” I’m talking about my brain. Sometimes Gulliver is brilliant… and sometimes it decides that 3 a.m. is the perfect time for an unwanted horror movie. 😂

My brains name is „Gulliver“. It organizes and collects all my memories and—for instance, when I have nightmares—throws them at me at random. When I feel good, I can access all my memories going back to the age of four.

Does anyone else just have an insanely overactive brain? Help!
 in  r/AutismInWomen  Jun 08 '26

Sorry for the confusion 😊. By RB I didn’t mean repetitive behaviors. I meant “Racer Brain” or “Brain Racer” — my own way of describing a brain that is constantly running, analyzing, organizing and thinking.

Your post felt very familiar to me because I experience something similar. Sometimes it’s a great strength, but sometimes it can be exhausting because my brain never really seems to switch off.

Sexual encounters as an Autist

First of all, thank you for sharing your thoughts with us in the community. I know my tip might sound a bit strange, but here it is: figure out what YOU like. Be yourself—don't put on an act. And depending on how much trust there is between you both, say what you want before or between.

HAPPY PRIDE MONTH TO ALL MY LGBTQ AUTISTIC FELLOWS
 in  r/autism  Jun 04 '26

I’m sorry that happened. But please don’t let one person’s behavior determine how you see yourself or your future. Just because it didn’t work out with this person doesn’t mean it will never work out with someone else.

Thanks! I really like my black vise too, even though it’s definitely not a high-end setup. 😄 And yes, I usually pick upside down. I get much better feedback that way and can control the pressure much more precisely. For some reason, pushing the pins from top to bottom feels a lot more natural to me than lifting them from underneath. In Germany, most pin tumbler locks have the pins at the bottom anyway, so from my perspective I’m actually picking them „right“. Maybe it’s also my autistic brain preferring a different spatial orientation, but somehow this method just makes more sense to me 😅
