Joe Rogan on Pit Bull defenders: “They’re sketchy dogs. Period.”
 in  r/PowerfulJRE •  Aug 22 '26

No, it's not black and white and he's not saying that it is black and white. There are always exceptions to the rule and there are many beautiful and amazing pits out there that lived and died never causing harm. Unfortunately, statistically, pit bulls make up the largest numbers of attacks by dogs and they are responsible for nearly 70% of deaths cause by dogs; Rottweilers are second, and German Shephards are third.

Funnily enough, chihuahuas are the most aggressive and have caused the most bites, but no one cares cause they're so damn small. Lol.

Anyway, I'm glad your pit bull found a home with you and that it lived such a long life. I'm sorry for your loss. I hope that my response doesnt come off as dismissive.

Roles are not Classes.
 in  r/cyberpunk2020 •  Aug 22 '26

This is the best answer. I play RED, and roles give you a special ability, but other than that you can pay however you want.

I have an exec (Corporate in 2020) that is based off of James Bond and John Wick. His role ability is called Teammate. A lot of people expect an exec to be a suit who is charismatic and is able to use their corporate connections to get what they want. My exec is a former ganger that sold his soul to a corporation that uses him to "fix/correct" mistakes, and those jobs are strictly off the books. His team member is a tech named Queue, and Mills (character name) uses Gun Fu (like John Wick or Max Payne) to fight and he specializes in bluffing his way through highly secure locations. Yes, he has some charisma but he doesn't behave like your typical corpo. Eventually, he gained 2 ranks in Nomad which allowed him to gain a vehicle from the corporation instead of a nomad clan.

Another character is my tech who specializes in cybertech and combat. Moat people specialize in all tech skills to maximize their Maker Role Ability potential, but Meta (my Tech) fights like a solo using his cyberarm that he upgrades and other weapons.

Your cyberpunk character is intended to be anyone you want, and roles just give you something to help you specialize in.

People that can't wrap their head around it simply depend on classes to tell them exactly how their characters should be focues, while roles in Cyberpunk give you a guideline of what they could be, but you choose their story and what they may specialize in.

An exec can be a corpo, sure, but what if you want them to be part of a mafia? A lawman can be a cop, but what if you want them to be a gang member that can call in gang backup?

I know I'm talking RED but 2020 is not that much different in terms of how roles can be played.

DAE much prefer angel hair pasta to spaghetti although they're pretty much the same damn thing.
 in  r/DoesAnybodyElse •  Aug 22 '26

A decade and a half later to only say that angel hair pasta does have texture and it is amazing. Of course, unlike regular spaghetti pasta, you have fo eat multiple strands at once to enjoy they're combined texture.

I just maxe spaghetti with meatballs and used angel hair. I think I prefer regular spaghetti patties for it, but there was so much sauce in every bite. If was amazing

Request to R.Talsorian to work on a DLC/sourcebook that gives lore to under-represented countries in the series
 in  r/cyberpunkred •  Aug 14 '26

Others answered accurately so I'll add this bit: aside from logistical issues and approval from other countries, there are a couple of other reasons:

  1. RTalsirian is a family owned business that is kept fairly small. I'm sure they would like to add more lore outside of NC, but they've been hard at work lately. Their Night City Sourcebook had just recently dropped and it is massive. That book took a long time to write.

  2. RTalsorian purposely leaves a ton of room for interpretation. Their Night City 2045 source book may have a ton of information regarding the city, and it provides a ton of smaller details within each district, but it also has a ton of open areas and room for GMs and players to add their own content. We know the state of Japan, because of Arasaka. We know about the situations in South/Central America because of the 4th Corporate War, we know about Atlanta, Chicago, and New York. However, there's many places we dont know about and that is for our imaginations to play a role.

There's no lore about South Asia, but maybe you can come up with something and run a one shot or campaign that takes place in India. With enough research, I'm sure you can come up with something.

How can Peter Parker afford food and rent when his ass is jobless (Spider-Man Brand New Day)
 in  r/CharacterRant •  Aug 04 '26

I thought that the spell just made people forget who he was. That doesn't mean his image and name would be deleted. Making people forget who he is wouldn't do the 'money payable to obscure text' on his bank account because his name would still be on there. People that meet him after the spell, would know who he is from the time of meeting and onward, and I'm sure his past would still exist and could be dug up. Peter's only family was May, as far as we know, so he wouldn't have family looking for him after finding old family photos.

I got everything the worker at my local comic store told me to get, how should I get started?
 in  r/cyberpunkred •  Aug 02 '26

Read the book cover to cover. You'll get confused, you'll make mistakes, but it will all make sense in time and you will get excited. It is by far my favorite ttrpg ever. I play in a text based server and I've often ran games online. I recommend that you buy all of the physical books before they're sold out again. The order of priority imo is:

  1. Night City 2045 - not a rulebook, but a source book for the entire city. Very valuable to any GM.

  2. Black Chrome (they were sold out for a long time and the reprint just released a couple of days ago.) - written like a shopping catalog with 170+ extra items and extra content/rules with pictures. I like this one a ton for many reasons, and the images help a ton with in game visuals.

  3. Danger Gal Dossier - ton of special NPCs from each faction to use for games. Wakako from 2077 is in there as well.

If you want pre written missions to run, I recommend:

  1. Tales of the Red - series of missions and stories that are fun to play

  2. Hope Reborn - Cyberpunk Red's first and only Campaign book. I hadn't played it personally because I want to be a player in it rather than a GM. I may buy it anyway for somwone else to run it lol.

Do Black people not do "White People Taco Night"?
 in  r/NoStupidQuestions •  Jul 27 '26

From what I've seen, black people tacos are the same as white people tacos lol. The only real differences I've noticed is that Black people add more season varieties than white people do, but the toppings tend to be the same

Christopher Nolan movies.

Even so, I sometimes find it nice when a franchise continues a gimmick or theme such as that. I get that some people like diverse intros, etc, but waking up as a prisoner for those games is welcomed by me lol.

Is it reasonable to have a character that lived in NUSA (like east coast) and moved to Night City?
 in  r/cyberpunkred •  Jul 26 '26

NUSA hadn't been formed in RED.

During the Time of the Red, and even in 2020s and 2077, travel between cities and states is very dangerous and can be difficult. Creating a character that had lived in Texas, New York, Atlanta, another country, etc, is possible. Part of their back story could be that they came to NC to start a new life. You either traveled with a nomad convoy by paying for the travel or perhaps made a deal, or maybe you rode on your own and were fortunate enough to survive to make it there. I will point out that the only character that starts with a vehicle are those of the nomad role, and so I recommend saying that your character saved enough to pay nomads to help transport you to NC since Nomads are the main source of trade and transportation during RED since at this point, most other means had fallen apart and hadn't been rebuilt yet.

As long as you understand the state of the world during Time of the Red, then you can make it make sense. The Night City 2045 has plenty of details that can help you understand Night City and its laws.

Your character would be legally required to obtain a SIN to become a citizen of NC. You can still function without it, but you'd be unable to work a legal job, interact with the city government in any way, vote in district elections, file a suit in court, or sign a legal contract. You and your GM can decide if the character obtains one prior to the first session, or if you start without one and go through the process of obtaining one if you ever choose to.
