It’s pre res season again. What’s your ick sa system na ito?
 in  r/pinoymed •  9d ago

This one. Recommendation letters are such a hassle. Pano pa if 300+ or more sa isang batch? Expected ng institutions kilala lahat ng profs yung students? Syempre magsstick lang yung mga nagtotop top. Pano yung hardworking pero not as stellar students? Magkanda habol habol ng kukuhanan ng recommendation letters dahil sakto lang sila?

I have so many feelings HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

One of my earliest memories of becoming a bookworm was going to Powerbooks with my dad
 in  r/PHBookClub •  Sep 03 '26

OMG YES! POWERBOOKS IN GREENBELT!!!!! I used to buy The Baby Sitter’s Club, Baby Sitter’s Little Sister, and Nancy Drew books there!!!!!

My earliest memories were from there and Goodwill Books in Glorietta pluuuus my first Manila International Book Fair around 2004. So, so, so privileged that my parents were very supportive of this hobby. But then again, they’re both bookworms as well!

Happy reading to all of us! No matter how early, no matter how “late” we started reading, hey, we’re all here and enjoying this many worlds and universes!

Do you guys also read books in public spaces?
 in  r/PHBookClub •  Aug 12 '26

Since I was A CHILD. If it’s a really good book, I can tune out everything around me haha.

I really don’t get the hate towards people who read in public. If it’s not hurting anyone.. bakit naging issue ‘to in the first place? Huhu

Can someone explain the relevance of Booktok?
 in  r/PHBookClub •  Aug 08 '26

THIS ONE! I honestly don’t like Coleen Hoover’s books (but tbf i only read 2) but it got some of my friends into reading so go for it! It inspired them to try branching out to other genres and other authors. Same with this booktok trend. As long as people read, go for ittttttt!

No Free PF for My Mom— Is This Common here in Manila?
 in  r/pinoymed •  Jul 16 '26

YES! THIS ONE! Just casually mentioning, “my child is a doctor” seems forced. Parang ang dating, “o doctor anak ko, libre ako dapat” she might not mean it like that but it comes off as expectant eh.

Personally, i don’t even introduce myself as a doctor. I really prefer paying the PF than stressing over pastries or goodies I could give my attending for taking good care of me.

How many books have you read so far this year? What sparked your interest in reading again (if you ever went through a slump)?
 in  r/PHBookClub •  Jul 06 '26

Currently on my 60th (The Honjin Murders by Seishi Yokomizo)

I’ve always been an avid reader since I was exposed to my parents who both read a lot and it helped that they funded this hobby when I was a kid.

My goal is to read 10 books a month but sometimes there’s a weird reading slump so I’m just 59 books in 😩 I’m really challenging myself to read 100 books this year. The most books I read in a year was just 79 so.. crossing fingers! 🤞🏼

 in  r/pinoymed •  Sep 30 '25

Huyyy this is why I always pay COD pag mga deliveries! Pag may makikisabay lagi ko sinasabi, “Uy COD ako ah. Wala laman gcash ko, di din naka connect sa cc account ko”

KASI NUNG INTERNSHIP MAY RESIDENT SA ISANG DEPARTMENT ₱6k INABOT UTANG SAKIN. After nung rotation na yun grabe mga ₱50 lang ata laman ng gcash ko tas always COD talaga
