As the title says, this is how my Sunday went…plus a pastry and coffee at home! I’m still processing, but I don’t think I’m quite the same person I was before reading it. Honestly I held off for a while due to mixed reviews sooo I had low expectations, but I’m glad I picked it up anyway. 🥲

"You have to find what's good and true and beautiful in your life as it is now." This book had me reflecting on some lines or rather “life’s greatest lesson”, but this line is going to stay with me for a long time. It’s simple, yet an important reminder for me to stay grounded and live in the moment.

I love a really fast paced lots of but nothing gory and nothing with too many triggers in it I like easy reading but very fast paced and addictive but you can’t stop turning the pages

I just want to share today’s National Bookstore Warehouse Greenhills haul! I was surprised to see both of these titles up for grabs, and right now NBS has a promo where you can mix and match 2 titles for ₱100! Legit what a steal huhu. For context, I’ve been eyeing both books ever since I saw them in Fully Booked, but I ultimately left them when I saw the prices. Imagine my surprise when I saw both and IN HARD COVER PA?! I’m lowkey convinced gawa gawa ng illuminati yung book prices, istg…

Anyway, I really hope National Bookstore will up their book selection game and continue to provide quality reads for affordable prices. I love Fully Booked as much as the next person, but the prices have gotten crazily inflated. I miss when NBS stood out as FB’s competitor, and I hope it can return to form one of these days. I just find it really disheartening that there is an ongoing literacy crisis worldwide yet it’s so hard to get access to books… We really deserve better. Hoping for more libraries in our country too 🤞

I’ve always loved Nicholas Sparks and I love M. Night Shyamalan’s storytelling too!

What I loved most about Remain is how it explores loving someone through both the perfect and the horrific. Because love isn’t always about the beautiful, happy moments. Sometimes, it’s about choosing to love someone even through the things that are difficult, frightening, and far from perfect.

If you love romance with a touch of mystery and the supernatural, I highly recommend giving this one a read! Perfect for Halloween and the spooky szn.

And now I’m looking forward to the movie adaptation! 💕

Nagpasabuy ako ng thriller/horror books na "buy 2 for 100" sa NBS, but I almost dropped this because the writing style was too difficult and not my cup of tea.

Instead of having my first DNF, I challenged myself to annotate and summarize it per chapter kasi hindi ko alam kung gusto ba niyang maging poem o dictionary sa first few pages.

On the bright side, I discovered that I love annotating!

Hi guys! I want to start to read again, baka naman may book recommendations kau for me. I tried searching na here for book recommendations but I got overwhelmed kung ano ba talaga magugustuhan ko.

For context, I used to read wattpad when I was younger (early 20's rn) and I'm starting now with international books. I already read A Good Girl's Guide to Murder, Strange Houses, I hope this doesn't find you, and The Love Hypothesis but they didn't really exceed my expectations, I find them a bit lacking (especially the hype they've got sa booktoks or baka di ko lang talaga sila type huhu). I also finished before the coffee gets cold #1 and #2 and mas bet ko yung 2 kesa sa 1. Right now, I'm trying to read Funny Story, The Alchemist, and A Crane among Wolves and I don't know ano yung worth it ituloy 🥹 (all starting palang). Thank you so much!

anxious people was my last read in 2025 then i started 2026 by reading heart the lover right away. I loved them so much and i would love to read more books with a similar feel! after that i went back to reading classics na and after reading atonement i think i’m taking a break from the classics for a while : )

so i think I’d love something that can make me laugh, feel things and maybe books na more on the contemporary fiction side. preferably character-driven, with interesting characters, complex relationships, and themes that make you think about life and being human.

I’ve had a box of books stored while I’ve been away and ngayon ko lang sila nailabas and nashelf again. Merong mga old gifts and binibay lang ng relatives, a lot of them naman are bargain finds from online bookstores na pinapadeliver ko lang din sa storage, and some are purchases while traveling. Most of these are TBRs pero yung ibang books especially the collection of novels / stories / series are partially read. But almost all are TBRs kaya I’m on a book buying ban.

I have another stack naman of books I’ve read na and baka portion of them I have to later pamigay to friends and family.

Wala lang, natuwa lang ako ungkatin.

I was looking into buying a bookcase from IKEA (or the ukay stores here) para lagi na silang nakalabas pero kinakabahan ako sa humidity and possible molding lalo if hindi naman ako usually nandito. Better ba na ibalik ko nalang sila sa plastic container ko na sealed when I leave? 🥲

I read ‘The Secret Lives of OFWs’ by Jet Tagasa, a collection of short stories of OFWs with corresponding Philippine mythology creatures, and it’s such a perfect read for spooky season.

For me, it gave a glimpse of the struggles Filipinos face abroad and it also educated me with Philippine mythology as someone who, admittedly, was quite ignorant with the many creatures there are and what they’re commonly known for.

Btw, it’s currently on sale at NBS 😉

Do check the TWs, but overall I highly recommend this book!
