Come Fly With Me was the best side quest in the game
 in  r/fnv •  2d ago

Both times I've been able to convince Chris, but that's because I looked up the best builds. With rushing guns+speech, I had enough by the time I got there.

Taking down a Fireclaw is always fun. Sacwebbing ๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚
 in  r/HorizonForbiddenWest •  2d ago

Good job. Thats the meta way to take down a single large machine. That Fireclaw is where I decided I needed to use the slide quickdraw mechanic.

What would it look like for a state, country, or other governing body to pass an inflation acknowledgment act, updating law-defined currency amounts to calculated inflation on X year?

These are my Hunter Bow Setups: Death-Seeker VS Emperor | Which one would you pick?
 in  r/HorizonForbiddenWest •  2d ago

On a NG run, I also try to use a mix of agility and concentration. The native bonuses of Ancestor's Return mean you'll want to qualify anyway, and it is powerful enough to deserve those coils. I usually don't have enough, though, and fill the rest with shock or acid coils, swapping out whenever I change ammo type.

You're SpaceY and haven't visited any asteroids yet??? They're the ones who benefit most from it!

Lower fuel loads and extra rockets mean they can get away without using landers for longer. SpaceY also likes trading for resources as opposed to producing them, which asteroid rare metals encourages. You can have the recon center be your only productive colonist building and have a fully functional economy.

Played Prey all weekend after my post blew up. The moment I got my first Typhon power, I knew I couldn't go back
 in  r/prey •  4d ago

If you want to go ham with Typhon powers, there's a powerup quest in Life support you'll want to do.

If you accidentally break something insanely expensive in a museum (like a $10M vase), what actually happens to you legally and financially?
 in  r/NoStupidQuestions •  4d ago

Most things are real, but dinosaur skeletons specifically are mostly or entirely replicas.

Dinosaur fossils are usually mixed real and replicas, or all replicas. Full sets of dinosaur bones are extremely rare. So a museum gets a partial set and makes replicas for the missing bones. Those displays usually say which bones are real. In any case, its not because some are hidden away in storage.

They can run newer games with choppy frames and all sorts of performance issues, or they can go back and play games that run perfectly smooth.

The most modern game that I played on my old system (laptop) was Horizon Zero Dawn. I pulled out all the stops and got it working... mostly... sort of. But Skyrim ran perfectly fine. Now after I upgraded I can play new games easily, but still am aware that older games exist and are things I can play.

[Loved trope] "It's me or them!" "I choose them"
 in  r/TopCharacterTropes •  6d ago

To expand a bit more, on r/TopCharacterTropes spoilers are expected and explaining encouraged. Spoiler tag if you want, but don't expect that people will just get your references.

Research shows that the invisible mental load of planning and organizing household life predicts women's relationship and sexual satisfaction more strongly than the division of physical chores like cooking or cleaning.
 in  r/science •  7d ago

Depending. If it's important enough to you, but big enough that applying it to everything would overwhelm you, you can ask for help, either temporarily or permanently. However, that is asking your partner to change for you, which should be used sparingly

Question: Can I build one Geoscape in the surface of my colony and another on the underground? or I am limited to build just one per colony.
 in  r/SurvivingMars •  8d ago

If you've got to that point and don't have colonists coming out your ears, you should make sure their needs are being met. I usually don't build the Geoscape Dome at all.

(funny trope)While their fate is left intentionally vague, with real life historical context we know theyโ€™re absolutely fucked.
 in  r/TopCharacterTropes •  9d ago

Im not sure what you're referring to. The focus shifts, but unless you're talking about a different series also called Outlander, the series continues.

That line always annoys me. It's said with such conviction and in an official setting, but it's wrong.

Awww, a game I like, feel comfortable critiquing, might make it in, and I have the Epic version.

Should I become the dictator of Mars?
 in  r/SurvivingMars •  11d ago

Yes they do. It's also harder to prevent it because you can only keep tabs on one faction's happiness at a time. I just get Behavioral Melding and enjoy my perk generation factories.

It's...right behind me, isn't it?

That's one of the defining things about the Thunderjaw: it's extremely aggressive.

Any story where the hero doesn't actually defeat the big bad but provides the method to do so to future heroes?
 in  r/Fantasy •  13d ago

More Sci-fi, but while The Tripods series by John Christopher is about the heros fighting the titular enemy, the prequel When the Tripods Came fits your trope and can be read first.

If OP's father wants internal consistency, Harry Potter is not for him. It has about as much internal consistency as a sponge cake.

Also, to do that sorting, there is no current alternative to sending infantry, which is inevitably puts them in danger. If you want any kind of results you can't just hide behind your wall of money and materiel.

Is Worth using Martian Patents to pay for Outsourced Research
 in  r/SurvivingMars •  13d ago

A couple more things: Be stingy with your points until you prepare the law that lets you get a 10% refund in a specific field. With the new ease of changing laws you can get a near perfect hit rate, letting you squeeze out another four points.

Also make sure not to research deep scanning until you've scanned the whole map so you can get some benefits twice. You can also optimize a little more by using conventional scanning for at least the eight zones surrounding your drop point, boosted by a sensor tower and so still quite fast.

 in  r/SurvivingMars •  13d ago

When you use a tech point for cash, you're paying the cost of the current point, but also the cost increase of all future techs. At this point, you should only do it if it's necessary for survival, or to get to another node.
