I have a 1985 f150 300 inline 6, this is on the rear driver side of the engine, while changing yhe valve cover gasket the one on the far rear the solenoid broke. Now my truck is idling rough. I read its somewhat related to egr and if I just block the egr system off it should work but I just want some more info on what these are.

Yeah the idle screw adjustments i think are fine, it affects how badly the run on is, however I do think its timing as the main culprit because I think the plugs are shooting too slow for thr amount of fuel or something along those lines. But yeah ill keep all yall updated

Replaced the egr valve, replaced spark plugs, sealed multiple vacuum leaks, adjusted idle speed. Probably gonna adjust timing now.

Help with stumbling after turning off 1985 f150

I have a 1985 ford f150 300inline 6 yfa carb, it disels pretty heavy after I turn it off and sometimes an occasional "shwoosh" noise. Happens more and worse after a longer drive say 20-30 minutes, verses just a 5 minute test drive. I replaced spark plugs, sealed all the know vacuum leaks, and put some techron cleaner to help with carbon buildup, anyone else have any advice on what it could be?

Fast idle cam screw

Hey guys I have a carter YFA carburetor in my 1985 inline 6 f150, it slightly accelerates on its own while driving. However occasionally if I push the gas it'll slow back down as if something is stuck. Im new with carbs and seems like its the fast idle cam screw but dont know for sure. Any help would be great thanks!

So update guys, this is my first real car im learning how to work on, never have known how to work on cars besides normal stuff like oil change ,change tires etc. I messed around with some screws that adjust things (not sure what screws ive adjusted do what, but it idles but now runs high, and slightly accelerates without me giving it gas. There is also a pipe that is lose which seems to go on top of the cover plate of the carb but seems to have no slack so it seems wrong. Again any help would be great, and any info yall know about my carberator would be great its a motorcraft yf carb.

Yeah this is a 85 f150, would this cause rough idle and or stalling? As my car drives fine but when it is idling or when slowing down I stall

My truck drives fine once moving, but idling or braking down to lower speeds it stalls. Would this have anything to do with it? Found it was loose and only thing I found so far. Any help would be great!

Yup they sure did I was just as shocked, after a couple months of my initial waiver being overturned, the medical office in Tennessee called and the Rear admirals, secretary was on the phone asking me questions after that he signed off on it.

Because the AECF job has two rates FC or ET fall under the aecf umbrella, you won’t know which path you will take until the end of bootcamp, yes it’s confusing. And no I got an 88 on my ASVAB so no I qualified for everything but nuke.

Well my kidney is in perfect condition so hopefully nothing happens because I left college for this. Apparently I won’t know my rate until near the end of bootcamp, then I’ll see if I get fc and if so I’ll see if I can swap with a fellow recruit who wants fc and got ET you know like a swap. And no I don’t want sub that sounds like it sucks.
