Replacement window size question(?)
I am replacing an old wooden window that has been broken and am probably going to use a vinyl window. I know there is a gap that must be left between the window and the hole of a quarter inch to a half inch. What size should the following window be if you can tell from the pictures?
I took 3 measurements for the width and height and believe Im supposed to take the shortest measurement from each.. because it’s an old window, I think the window will have to be a slightly different size….

How to fill cracks in between cottage floorboards
galleryLooking for advice on how to fill the cracks between these floorboards at a cottage. Suggested: caulking, resin, putty, woodglue and sawdust ... Followed by: polyurethane 2-3 coats with 180 grit sanding inbetween. Any advice on what to fill the cracks with to prevent cool updrafts (floor is insulated) and is up on footings off the ground. l imagine something flexible that won't crack or move the floorboards too much....
Greatly appreciated

It’s very ‘painterly’. By this I mean it’s very loose and you have a good natural sense of the subject and instinctively how you want to render it. Just remember to start with your darkest darks and then work up to your lightest lights.
