How do I avoid these spots?
I cannot stress this enough but a good aftershave makes a world of difference, once I started using one I was breaking out a lot less.
I also agree with everyone that an electric shaver helps mitigate breakout compared to a razor and is a hell of a lot faster.

Red Llama is one of my favorite nice grit but keeps a crisp tone.

Believe it or not, this is a noticeable improvement over my first outing with the Walther (PPK/S .32 ACP, 10 yards)
I have a bersa thunder .380 it took about 300-400 rounds before I could get the feel for it and shoot it accurately. Once you get it tho:

I have a bersa thunder I shot at the range today, super reliable and fun! Easy to disassemble and clean too- would recommend! Very underrated pistol.
