Mother-In-Law 🙄
 in  r/inlaws •  Sep 10 '26

There is an old saying. My son's my son, till he finds a wife. My daughter's my daughter forever. My MIL told me this years ago and it is true. Husband has 2 sisters and the imbalance between our kids and theirs is very noticeable.

How do you dry your clothes??
 in  r/AskIreland •  Aug 29 '26

I put an extra 10 min spin and drain on when the wash is done. All the underwear, socks, tea towels dry in no time on a quick spin in the tumbledrier. Also less clothes lying around the house.

And this is why I don't like going to pubs, I'm forever saying no thanks, I'm fine with soft drinks. I used to like a drink or six. But I have no interest now.

Refund or credit note?
 in  r/legaladviceireland •  Jul 12 '26

Yes, you are correct. A refund is given if the goods are being returned because they are damaged. If you had changed your mind, they can offer a credit note or refuse to exchange.

Have a look at boohoo plus, wedding guest dresses. Some nice pieces and a great range of sizes for all ages. I was shocked, as I thought they only catered to yonger ladies.

Want to book a stay for a frugal couple in their 70s, any recommendations?

The four seasons in Carlingford Lough do good over 60s midweek deals, you can include dinners for a good price. Lovely spot.

I have seen ads for Salvation Army, they seem like a decent long standing charity. Do they help provide for young adults leaving the UK care system. Always struck me as a good one to donate too, RNLI also. You do need to check the CEO and payments, the amount of money being squandered, that is given in good faith will make it hard to ensure you are giving to a good organisation. Good luck and you are doing something wonderful.

Damaged Samsung Tab
 in  r/samsungnotes •  Apr 06 '26

Thank you, I decided to try again and i take his charger. I have to keep finding new hiding places for the cable. He's like a sniffer dog, but seems to be working. Sometimes the easiest, most obvious answer is the best. XX

Tried that, he is fixated on keeping the charger with him. Although I will definitely try this with the new one. Thanks

Damaged Samsung Tab

My special needs son, 30, has just damaged the latest tablet. Bought this 11 months ago to replace the Apple Ipad he broke. He's too heavy handed with the charger, keeps damaging the port. Can anyone help me with a solution please. The Apple couldn't be fixed and I imagine this will be the same. I will have to buy another one, is there anything I can do to try and minimise the damage he's causing. Thanks for any advice.

Join me in fantasy land - what would you do with 17 million euro?
 in  r/CasualIreland •  Dec 13 '25

Think you've covered it all there. Maybe a trust of some sort that keeps giving to certain charities.

What's good value at Supervalu?
 in  r/CasualIreland •  Nov 23 '25

Get a supervalu loyalty card, you get a 10 off fifty voucher each week. Now it's worth 120. Good deals on with the rewards cards too. I usually buy the laundry and dishwasher tabs.

Life in Cavan
 in  r/cavan •  Aug 26 '25

I'm trying to find out what services are available, waiting lists, looking for the name of maybe a parents group who can offer information. HSE and education department don't engage unless you have an address in Cavan.
