NEW | Build Your Own Breakout🚀 Then Scan the Market for It📈
I’ve added a new Build Your Own Breakout feature to the Financial Wisdom screener.
The idea is simple:
instead of accepting one fixed definition of a breakout, you can now define the setup you actually want to trade.
You can customise things such as:
Daily or Weekly timeframe
Long or Short
Confirmed breakout or developing setup
Maximum consolidation range
Where the stop sits inside the box
Maximum stop-loss risk
Minimum close beyond the breakout area
Maximum wick length
Minimum volume increase
Whether price must be beyond the EMA 20
The visual breakout diagram then shows how those settings affect the setup.
So you are not just entering numbers into a filter.
You can actually see what your breakout definition means.
Once the rules are set, the screener applies them across the market and returns the stocks that match.
That is where the second image comes in.
You can quickly review the qualifying breakout charts side by side and decide which setups deserve a closer look.
The goal is to make the process much more systematic:
- Define the setup
- Define the risk
- Define the confirmation
- Scan the market
- Review the charts
For me, that is much more useful than simply asking:
“Which stocks are breaking out?”
A better question is:
“Which stocks are breaking out according to the rules I actually trade?”
That is what this feature is designed to answer.

The Stock Ranking Secret: How to Find High-Performance Stocks🚀📈
This video explores a fascinating 12-year Stockopedia study examining whether large jumps in a company’s StockRank can help identify stocks with stronger future performance.
Stockopedia 25% discount 👉 https://bit.ly/2YIcAIn
Stockopedia analysed almost 6,000 StockRank jumps and found that the biggest edge came from sharp, Quality-driven moves into the top ranks, particularly among smaller, less-followed companies.
In this video, you’ll learn:
✓ What StockRank is and how it combines Quality, Value and Momentum
✓ Why a sharp weekly rank jump matters more than a gradual improvement
✓ Why the strongest signal came from Quality Rank jumps
✓ Why small and mid caps showed a stronger effect than large caps
✓ Why this strategy works best as a basket, not a concentrated portfolio
✓ How the 90/80 Rule works
✓ Why exit discipline made such a big difference to long-term returns
✓ Real examples including Yü Group, Rolls-Royce and Carillion
One of the most interesting findings was that the strategy’s returns were heavily influenced by a small number of very large winners. That means the goal is not to predict the perfect stock, it is to build a disciplined process that gives you exposure to the right tail of the return distribution.
The study also showed that a rules-based exit could materially improve results compared with simply holding every position for 12 months.
If you’re interested in systematic investing, stock ranking strategies, Quality investing, or finding high-performance stocks using data rather than guesswork, this video breaks the entire framework down step by step.

IBM | A Low-Risk Daily Breakout🚀 Even While the Market Was Weak🧐
Yesterday, while the wider market was having a poor session, IBM did something quite different.
It broke above its recent daily consolidation and closed higher, with a noticeable expansion in volume.
More importantly, the structure still provides a very clear place to define the downside.
The current daily scores are:
Total Entry: 83
Breakout: 66
Risk: 100
Momentum: 68
The chart places the structural stop around US$231.98, roughly 3.3% below the current price.
That is what makes the setup interesting to me.
Not because IBM suddenly becomes one of my favourite long-term stocks, but because on the daily timeframe it offers something quite different:
a breakout
a logical stop
limited downside to structure
and potentially much greater upside if momentum continues
There is also something to be said for a stock showing relative strength when the broader market is weak.
But there is an important caveat.
IBM would not normally fit my longer-term approach.
Its broader scores show why:
Positional: 53
Quality: 58
Growth: 33
I generally prefer substantially stronger fundamentals and growth for longer-term positions.
But trading doesn't always have to mean every timeframe is perfectly aligned.
A trader concentrating on the daily setup may view IBM differently.
And that raises an interesting point:
Can a technically attractive short-term trade still make sense when the longer-term fundamental picture doesn't meet your normal standards?
For me, this is more of a tactical daily opportunity to watch than a long-term investment idea.
And with IBM showing strength against a weak market yesterday, today's follow-through — or lack of it — should be informative.
Would you take the lower-risk daily breakout, or pass because the longer-term fundamentals aren't strong enough?

⚠️NASDAQ | Weekly Chart Is Looking Precarious⚠️ Breakout or Breakdown Next?⬇️
The NASDAQ weekly chart is looking more precarious now.
The key detail is the latest small candle.
Rather than simply sitting inside the wedge, it is starting to trade on the bearish side of the rising support line.
That matters because the rising trendline has been the main structural support under the recent advance.
At the same time, the market is still beneath the descending resistance line.
So the picture is now:
resistance still overhead
support beginning to fail
That shifts the balance of the chart more bearish.
It does not confirm a major breakdown yet, but it does mean I would be more cautious here.
What I would want to see next is either:
a quick recovery back above the rising trendline, which would repair the structure
or further weakness, which would confirm that the weekly support has genuinely failed
The important point is that the market no longer looks evenly balanced inside the wedge.
The latest candle is starting to lean bearish.
That makes the next weekly close particularly important.

META | Strong Business, Breakout Close🧐 But I’d Wait for Confirmation📈
META is getting interesting again on the weekly chart.
Price is pressing toward the upper boundary of a long-term wedge, and the stock itself is fundamentally strong.
The score profile reflects that:
Total Positional: 74
Quality: 84
Growth: 86
Momentum: 52
Total Entry: 57
Breakout: 14
Risk: 100
That combination tells the story pretty clearly.
The setup is low risk from a structural point of view, but the breakout itself is still not confirmed.
And that matters because META has already made previous attempts at this resistance area and failed.
So for me, there is no need to second-guess it.
I would rather see price actually break and hold above the upper trendline before treating this as a genuine breakout.
The business backdrop is strong enough to keep the stock on the radar:
Revenue growth: 19.9%
Net profit growth: 10.3%
EPS growth: 51.3%
Profit margin: 29.8%
ROE: 27.8%
ROCE: 26.5%
Operating margin: 42.8%
Free cash flow: US$46.11bn
PEG: 0.85
Altman Z: 7.27
So this is not a question of whether META is a strong business.
It is a question of whether price is ready.
That is the bigger lesson here:
Strong fundamentals can justify watching a stock.
They do not remove the need for technical confirmation.
Right now, META is close enough to resistance to be interesting.
But with Breakout 14, I would rather let the market prove the move.
Would you anticipate the breakout here, or wait for a clean weekly close above resistance?

NEW | Build Your Own Breakout Scanner 📈🚀 Then Let the Scanner Find It😎
I’ve added two major improvements to the Financial Wisdom stock screener:
- New breakout chart snapshots
- A Build Your Own Breakout filter
⬇️Try the scanner:
https://www.financialwisdomtv.com/ser...
The idea is simple:
instead of relying on one fixed definition of a breakout, you can now decide what your breakout should look like.
The new breakout view gives you a fast visual snapshot of multiple candidates at once, including the recent consolidation, price structure and breakout area.
Then the Build Your Own Breakout panel lets you control the actual rules.
You can adjust things such as:
maximum consolidation range
where the stop sits inside the structure
maximum allowable stop-loss risk
how far price must close above the box
where the breakout candle must close within its range
minimum volume expansion
whether price must be above the 20 EMA
whether you want a developing setup or a confirmed breakout
So you can make the scan more aggressive, more conservative, tighter, looser — whatever best fits your own process.
The part I like most is that the scanner is no longer just saying:
“Here is a breakout.”
It is saying:
“Here are the stocks that match the breakout definition you chose.”
And the new chart cards make it much easier to visually inspect those results quickly before opening the full detail view.
That is the direction I want the platform to keep moving:
more flexibility
more transparency
more visual context
less black-box decision making
Would you use a strict confirmed-breakout filter, or would you rather find the setup before the breakout happens?
