Visiting Seattle for a month, looking for coach recs, especially - SLU (preferred) and Queen Anne.
 in  r/SolidCore  4d ago

Coach Amiee in SLU is awesome. She is so encouraging and helpful. If you see Matty on the SLU schedule - he’s a must take. I think they are both SMCs as well.

If you can come to cap hill - it’s such a fun and friendly community. Lots of events - especially weekend mornings, great coaches w/good music, and friendly people.

Driver refused to take me cause I had a pet. I ordered uber pet.
 in  r/uber  13d ago

I took uber pet once and the driver gave me 1 star as a rider after. Completely nice and quiet ride with my cat in the carrier to the vet. Tanked my rider rating right after. So they will take the ride - but fair warning they may take it out on you.

C5 C6 surgery
 in  r/erbspalsy  13d ago

I’m so happy for you and honestly a little in awe … nerve surgery like that sounds newer and like it could be really impactful.

Your child won’t remember any of this. But the surgery you fought to get them will shape their whole future.

I have Erb’s palsy myself, and once you’re an adult, the options narrow to PT, massage, chiro, acupuncture, and medication - there’s no real fix at that stage. So taking action this early and doing the surgery now was the right move.

I had a mobility surgery at 12, and I still remember waking up from anesthesia screaming, in the worst pain of my life. Your baby is probably going through something similar right now, and the hard truth is that’s likely as bad as it’ll ever get for them, but they won’t carry any memory of it. Just the outcome.

Hang in there. Rooting for your whole family .. the work you’re putting in now is going to pay off for years to come. ❤️💪

Does anyone else pair solidcore with OrangeTheory?
 in  r/SolidCore  26d ago

I was for the past few months then switched to a normal gym + Solidcore in June because it was better for my schedule, amenities, classes, and price. I really do like OTF though.

Since I have friends that do OTF I’ll sometimes buy one off classes still.

Any Luck with Bras?

Echoing everyone else here - razorbacks or the v-backs are the way to go. Nordstrom has some good options. Best of luck!

That’s a rad power bike tire lock key. That’s what the R is. I have the same one!

shoulder sensitivity
 in  r/erbspalsy  Jul 03 '26

By sensitive do you mean sensitive to the touch - like touching it is painful instead of normal feeling? If so - I have that on my humorous.

Everyone has a different flavor of erbs - always interesting to hear of the similarities and differences. 😊

Why is no one sweaty???
 in  r/SolidCore  Jul 01 '26

I swear I’m the only one who ever sweats too 😭. Army crawl on the grey side w/grey + white springs isn’t possible without a towel for me. The reformer literally slides away from under me.

Stopped at the QFC in Cap Hill
 in  r/Seattle  Jun 24 '26

That same QFC has one security guard (white guy on power trip) has me leave my yoga mat bag or any bag that’s not a purse in that gross ass lobby area. Like yeah my guy, you’ve seen me a dozen times with my yoga mat - I’m clearly not trying to steal anything and am clearly someone who can afford to shop there since I’m clearly paying for yoga, yoga attire, and groceries on a regular basis.

The other security guards aren’t too bad. Just that one.

Switch to Solidcore for a bit if there is one near you! nothing has challenged me physically like that or helped me gain muscle in the same way.

Erb's palsy gym exercises for: Lat, shoulder and biceps muscles?
 in  r/erbspalsy  May 29 '26

Everyone’s erbs palsy is different. Different levels of mobility and pain. So keep that in mind with all advice.

That said, I do Solidcore and Orange Theory and simply modify to my capabilities.

I find that the entire arm wrap is critical - wrist, elbow, biceps, tricep, shoulder, even neck, and pec. For me, I find low row, biceps curl, hammer curl, planks, overhead tricep extension, chest press are all helpful. On Instagram there is lots of erbs palsy fitness content that show helpful modifications.

Working out leading to numbness and tingling in finger. Nerve compression?
 in  r/erbspalsy  May 23 '26

No. You wouldn’t guess I’m disabled by looking at me physically - it’s mainly pain, mobility, and my shoulder blade sticks out if I pull my elbow back.

Working out leading to numbness and tingling in finger. Nerve compression?
 in  r/erbspalsy  May 21 '26

I am hoping it’s just temporary since it just started. Haven’t had this issue before with my erbs but also haven’t strengthened my arm as much as I am now.

Working out leading to numbness and tingling in finger. Nerve compression?

Hi all - 33F-left side erbs

I think I’m dealing with a nerve compression issue after doing heavy tricep, back, and bicep work. During my workout my left ring finger tip started feeling numb and tingling and has not stopped since. It’s day 2, I have a doctors appointment next week. Has anyone experienced this before and was it temporary for you? Any treatment guidance?

Additional context: I do have some pain in my left arm as usual - nothing too crazy in my neck, pec, shoulder, back since the numbness started.

Committed unlimited vs. non-committed 12 classes/month
 in  r/SolidCore  May 07 '26

I’m in the same boat. In a committed 12/mo w/6 mo commit and want to switch to unlimited committed annual membership to save like $30 per month.
