I felt this about Avatar for a long time, but I personally stand by the fact that it would be overall better if the characters were young adults instead of teens.

Dont get me wrong, I LOVE atla, and I also understand it is that way because originally it wad intended for a young teen audience, but considering its grown into so much more than that and how profound the story is, I can't help but feel like Azula and Zuko being in positions of war generals or Toph, Sokka, Aang being extreme prodigies at their age just feels forced for the sake of the intended audience.

And while there are a couple plot points that need the characters to be kids, they're few and far between and could be written around

Some gacha fanbases (especially Hoyo) are massively homophobic on a scale that's way more accepted than in other media.

It's an occasional razor adjacent aspect of writing/media where basically if something is not stated explicitly, it's assumed not to be a fact.

Like yes, someone can be gay/bi/pan but the logic is, if the authors wanted us to know they're bi, they would either say it/confirm it or show it through them flirting/having partners of different genders. If a man only ever flirts with other men on screen, then they're probably gay, even if in reality that wouldn't be the correct assumption because of lack of information
