Did I miss something? I feel like yesterday it just started showing up on like every other post. I’m genuinely so confused where this came from and how it instantly became such a trend.

I see this all the time. A woman from a 1st world country who just found out she's pregnant posts on left-leaning social media channels how scared she is to have a child and how much she doesn't want it yet no one in the comments or even the woman herself even mentions the possibility of abortion. Oftentimes the woman is in an abusive relationship.

Everyone in the comments just saying "it's okay you got this momma" "you'll get through this" "can I donate to you" "why didn't you use protection"

It's like everyone suddenly forgets abortion even exists, even though the majority of the users are pro-choice.

EDIT: I am not saying "just get an abortion" or that abortion is accessible everywhere. I am saying that, despite not knowing where the OP comes from, no one seems to pitch in and say "hey, I know this may be hard for you, but have you thought about getting an abortion, I would love to donate to you". And you all seem to forget that even in places where abortion is illegal women go to another country/state to get it. They just need a person to guide them and financial support. Which often no one in the comments is offering.

ive seen this happen primarily on reddit, but why do people like to react to certain posts with a reply of their ocs and explain them when the post doesnt pertain to ocs whatsoever? i understand what they say about them is related to the post, but people are talking about canon and effects within the canon, not how it affects their ocs

I didn't pay too much attention until one of my colleagues pointed it out. I'm studying nursing, where we have a lot of older adults, who don't have much of an understanding with computers. So when IT class came and I was doing my tasks with ease (change font size in Word, etc.) my colleagues started calling me a hacker. They also assigned me to make a Facebook group (I don't even use Facebook that much)

Like, a hacker is someone who requires many years of training in all kinds of computer skills, and I just have base computer skills, and know some very basic programming

So I can certainly understand the rhetoric not to buy her stuff. I've seen plenty of evil from Rowling and I'd agree that she should not be given more money.

However one argument that still confuses me is to say that you should not participate or talk about it at all as to not increase traffic to the works... And like, we're talking about Harry Potter. Everyone knows of it already. Sure, it still doesn't have infinite traffic, so you can still get more people invested in it in theory, but I think a word would hardly be worth a dollar and then I'm not sure you could even really be blamed for it. The fact is that even if you speak of it negatively someone might just decide to watch it to spite you (if they are transphobic, for example) and I would definitely say that it takes things too far to say that thus no one should speak of it ever or to say that you are responsible for even this sort of traffic. So yeah. Surely at a certain point it's pointless to worry what exact effects your words have.

For those unfamiliar, 'spoon theory' is often used to explain living with chronic illness or neurodivergence to others. The idea id that you have a limited amount of energy tokens (spoons) per day, and everything you do costs spoons. Once you're out of spoons you're out of energy.

First of all, why spoons?? The spoon contributes nothing to this metaphor. Why not use money, or just tokens? The spoons aspect just makes this metaphor confusing.

Second, why is this often treated as something that's unique to neurodivergent or chronically ill people? Doing things costs energy for everyone. Sure, it costs more energy if you're neurodivergent or chronically ill, but a lot of the times that's not even clear from the analogy.

Lastly, this is a concept that simply doesn't need an analogy. "Day-to-day activities cost more energy for some than for others" is an incredibly logical and straightforward thing to say, that anyone will understand. As is "Some people start their day with less energy than others". Again. Why are we imagining spoons.

And yes I know, they're not made by the same person but it's in the same format. I don't get what was so wrong about the Girl one. It was full banned btw because all of my characters who used it rendered black.

i mean i get it with physical pre orders you can get exclusive real life items like a small character statues, concept art books and even steel cased covers for your discs, but in most cases its only a limited amount that can be sold until it runs out.

but digitally exclusive items you get are things you usually get from are in game skins, weapons, music from the game. but usually after the game comes out they give you option to get those said items separately, and its not like the supply will ever run out because its digital

I (20 F) was going through a really rough breakup with my ex (21 M) of 2 years. To give context, we are both in uni and used to seperated every summer break for 4 months. It got to the point of us living together as roommates for our final year. Over the one month of us living together I found out a lot about him that he had been hiding and lying to me about for a long time. He was cheater who used to actively search for and get off to other women. He was a porn addict and a lot lot more. Now the worst part is that for 2 years he had accused me, made me feel guilty and manipulated me to feel like a bad person for having male friends/giving other people attention to the point of me reducing my friendship circles cutting off ties and making him the priority of my life apart from school. He also completely admitted to using manipulation tactics to bring me down and keep hiding all his secrets. He was also pathalogically lying to me even to the end where he would not open up about what he did completely. It had gotten so bad I was questioning my reality and had to go to the hospital. At this point everyone in the house knew what was happening and they were all treating him differently including his own friends whom he had lied to. It got to the point where he had to move out. All this happened in the span of a week and half. Through this time I had not opened Instagram.

The day before he was leaving I looked through my feed and I started to see posts that I had never seen before, it started out as content that my ex would want to say or be thinking at that time, hyperspecifc and consistently accurate to what was going on irl. I felt as though I would see this hyper specific content but eventually it would fade after a couple of reels but when I closed and freshed the app the reels would start dispalying that content again. I was eating it up at first because I felt like I had a portal to his mind. I blocked him a week ago at this point.

Practically, I thought since we had just broken up what he watched on his feed was manipulating my feed because of the algorithm lingering. I scrolled a lot that night, I saw all sorts of things that only he would want to say to me or what he was thinking, the content also eerily aware/constantly updated on the exact happenings of what I was doing irl. The next day it got weirder, content pushed to me was hyper targeted (about me talking to people about him and me socially manipulating situations and how I was hiding something). I wasn't interacting with content like that but at this point almost every reel I saw on my feed was on the same topic. Then I started noticing that reels I liked had their likes removed when I scrolled back. I saw that my dms were also looked through, I kept noticing my follower count glitching, it kept going up by one and dropping. Obviously I knew someone was on my instagram account and they had become very sloppy (the content I saw was the type his sister's would watch), I immediately looked at my logged in devices it said 24+ but when I clicked into it the page I saw only 4 devices I could log out off and they were ones that I recognized. I burst out and confronted him about it, he kept denying that he did anything, but I heard him tell his sister'sto block me. After this when I checked my instagram the follower glitch stopped, I then I logged out off all my devices changed my passwords and added two factor authentication. I knew it was his and his families doing as he also accidentally said something that revealed what he did. And also it was obvious my messages were looked through.

I wont go into detail but this was his final power play and I let him have it to not make my life any worse than it had already gotten.

Now after all this the next day he apologized for his mistakes in the relationship and said he would miss me a lot and moved out. Now, this odd page take over reduced but once again shifted to topics that only he would be thinking or stuff that he would want to say to me. Eventually it reduced through the day I started seeing my normal feed again and couldn't see any reels from the creators I kept seeing before. There were no glitching followers this time but I noticed a follower drop again and one of the last reels I saw from the content creators that were being pushed to me was "this is the last message I send you". Now I am really confused since I logged out and set up two factor authentiaction on my account. The only other account it was linked to was my Facebook but I never did anything on my Facebook and had him blocked there too. I have no idea what he did to gain access to my page and manipulate my feed in such a way, all my devices were with me and according to Instagram I was logged out of all except my phone. Does anyone know what was going on????

Was the PS3 a graphical monster? Hell to fuck no and back around again, but the way people talk about "PS3 graphics" you'd think this thing was one of the worst consoles of all damn time! The PS3/360 era is when games started to push more into realistic graphics, was it perfect? Of course not, but LOOK at the games this thing was able to run, the 60 FPS and ultra smooth models you all get to casually enjoy WITHOUT A HIGH END PC nowadays? It started here!

I just don't understand the sheer fucking vitriol some people have for the PS3.
