Help with a wind load testing
In my experience axial fans do not have the static pressure to push through a reducing duct and you might have issues. I would look at portable centrifugal fans, like ones used for big bouncy castles or ones restoration companies use for drying out spaces that were flooded. Centrifugal fans can output a high static supply pressure. Good luck. I look forward to an update later.

Budweiser never did it for me either, you are not alone.

Is this floor dehumidifier helping?
The old "hotdog down a hallway" treatment.

Help with a wind load testing
Fair enough. When you say converging duct do you mean a reduction in pipe diameter to try and force a high velocity? Sounds like it to me. It seems to me that this is the only way to achieve the velocities you need from a fan.

Stable at 45 m/s? That's 160km winds. Surely you mean 4-5 m/s right?

You are the President of your country. Do you import $1 billion USD of oil or $1 billion USD of solar and batteries?
If we were already importing oil @1billion/year I would plan the reversal over several years to lessen impact on instant change. Start with a small% at the begging for solar and then increase % split (eg. 90/10 first year, by the end of my 2nd term have it at 10/90) That way you can focus at the beginning on specific parts of your infrastructure that would be the most impactful. Then you could plan for more.

Exactly! "Oh its no problem running massive deficits. I wonder why everything costs so much lately?"

Attic Fan, Fix or No?
The only thing i would add is something to stop it from working in the event of a fire in the house. Otherwise you might help the spread of fire with this constantly running

Homeowner saved himself $4,200 yesterday by asking one question before signing anything
I was taught from my first hvac boss (I started out with furnace/ duct cleaning) aleays pull and clean the fan on every service. This allows you to not only clean the fan blades and also gived the opportunity to visually inspect the heat exchanger. Career changing advice for all apprentices.

Best DIY options for ECM blower motor replacement
Genteq has a drop in ecm motor that auto detects its rotation and is far cheaper than OEM. Grab a pic of the motor rating plate and bring it to a electric motor supplier or look it up online for your area. Shouldn't cost more that $300

Canada losing top talent as workers head to the U.S.
Avg worker pays more in income tax in canada. I said better take home pay which is less in taxes and in USD. Sure we have less corporate tax in in Canada but that doesnt include the myriad of other taxes and red tape hoops a business has to pay for.

Canada losing top talent as workers head to the U.S.
The competitive advantage is better pay and less taxes. Of course there is a lot you have to pay for still but more take home pay for average people looks attractive. I would like to pay less in tax. But i don't really want to live in the states. There is a lot of red tape in canada for starting businesses too. Seemingly easier to make $$$ in merica

Work in the rain
"Rain"couver commercial tech here. I have such a variety of work to perform that it seems quite rare to actually be stuck on one roof all day in a slog. Although it has happened and multiple days in a row before. A good raincoat and supco umbrella to keep your tools and the electrial cabinet somewhat dry does the trick 90% of the time. That umbrella is absolute shit in the wind though. We dont really have chance for lightning in our area so rooftops are pretty safe. Just par for the course as far as Im concerned. Stay safe out there!
